OXO Softworks Salad Spinner and Fruit Washer, 6.7 Quart, Clear

I ordered online for pickup, so I had no idea how big this salad spinner would be! That's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you're limited on storage, I would get OXO's smaller version. I previously had a cheaper spinner that was cheaply made and had a terrible spinning handle that broke all the time, so I knew I wanted one with a push button. This one will last much longer.

Should have bought this years ago ! Cuts produce drying time down to seconds. Works great with fresh herbs also. It would have been extra special if they included a reusable lid for the bowl, but then again, it wasn’t meant to be a storage container. Thinking I may buy another just for back up during growing season. I don’t ever want to go back to my old way of drying and blotting lettuce with paper towels.. only minutes from garden to table now.

I love love love this salad spinner. The middle part you push locks in place for easy storage. The only complaint I have is that it does not have a spout on the top to pour your water out of so you have to take the whole top off the remove the basket then pour out the water.

My previous salad spinner broke on me. I've had it for a little over 10 years so when I saw it when I was shopping the other day through my Walmart account I saw it it was my previous salad spinner broke on me. Well, they did and I was very pleased that not only did they have one they were several I could pick and choose from and as I had hoped it was delivered to my home with my groceries that same day I'm very pleased with the product and I'm more than pleased that I was able to get it delivered to my house the same day in time for dinner.

Pro. Good drying ability for small lots. Eady to press down to spin the vegetables. Do not need to use in a sink since the excess wayer is captured in the enclosure. Seems to be made well using plastic, not glass or metal. Reasonable price. The top locks sown taking less storage space. Con. The center top can not be used so the space is slightly less. Need to remove spinning basket to empty water each time,

Ha ds down the best salad spinner I've owned. Easy to use which is a huge plus since I have arthritis. Works very well. Sturdy. Good capacity. Comparatively quite. Easy to clean g store. Light weight. I like that the bowl %26 the basket are clear. Nonskid bottom is great. Have already used for small fruits, grapes, strawberries, grape tomatoes. Worked perfectly.

This spinner is the best one so far that I've used. It can get vegetables drier than other type of spinners and easier to operate as well. I put only about a quarter of the basket instead a full that get better results even though I have to spinner couple of more portions.

I like the overall size and the inner basket is handy. It is easy to use, keeping in mind that if you spin too fast it wants to wobble and I have to use my other hand to stabilize. It only gets out a little water from the lettuce and I still have to use paper towels to dry the lettuce before storage. I guess it does but down on the number of paper towels that I use overall, but then you've got this big container to clean. Not so sure that it is worth it to me.

I try not to give bad reviews, but this product didn't do what the post described in a few important ways. Before buying this, I thought it was a more efficient way to wash and dry lettuce/produce, but the only thing I was able to change, since I already wash my produce by hand in a colander, is the drying process. This gadget spins the produce around and it drains in the bowl the colander sits in, similar to the spin cycle in a washing machine. Unfortunately, it doesn't dry my produce any better or faster than just dabbing it with a paper towel. The second problem happened when I let it go through a dishwasher cycle. Even though it was in the top rack, the bowl came out misshapen so now the lid and bowl don't fit together, which is important for something that operates by moving air. The result is that now the black button won't go down to spin the colander. It's completely stuck. And this is only about the 5th time I've used it. It may be past the point of being able to return it, but I'm still going to try. This is supposed to be a dishwasher safe product and $30 is a higher price for this kind of product. My experience has been that it hasn't lived up to that. I don't even want a replacement.
