This turned out to be a GREAT purchase. The tent is HUGE, well made and looks fantastic, especially at night where it glows with a soft warm light when lit from within. The outdoor screen room is large and spacious and the inside is MASSIVE. There is a central atrium with a very tall ceiling and a wing on the right and left side that each fit a queen air mattress with some space to spare. The wings also have ceilings that allow for standing upright. On the backside there is another wing with a slanted "stargazing" mesh roof that can fit another queen mattress. This room would be great to leave open if you enjoy seeing your surroundings, it can also be completely covered. We ended up making the back room a storage and changing room since it has a pulldown cover for privacy. The tent was absolutely perfect for two people and a lot of gear. You could easily sleep 4 on two mattresses plus tons of gear and space to congregate or very comfortably sleep 6 on three mattresses with some common area. One thing to note is that the tent only has a privacy sheet for the back room, the other two wings are open and can't be closed up into separate rooms unless you make your own wall. The tent did take some time to set up, but now that I know how to do it, I could get it up in probably 15 min easily. The main thing is that you MUST pull the main section (left and right wings and common area) taught and stake the four corners first before doing anything else. Make sure you bring a mallet and a good metal hammer and be prepared for firm ground if your campsite has that (ours did and it was very tough setting the stakes without a metal hammer). After that, assembling and popping up the four main support ribs that hold up the main section is a breeze. It's just necessary to have the corners staked down well first because the tent relies on the tension from the corners to keep the middle section taught. There are two other poll supports, one for the front and one for the rear that go up in maybe a minute each. There was some light/medium wind and a rain storm that lasted about an hour and a half while we were set up. The tent handled both beautifully. The ribs/poles of the tent are large and made of rigid metal, when the tent is staked properly and the fabric is pulled over the poles the tent barely moves in light/medium wind despite it's size. It's definitely not meant for consistently rough weather but light weather events should be no problem. Taking the tent down and packing it up was a breeze, we were able to do it with two people in less than 10 minutes, it was almost as fast as other people in our party who had "instant" pop up tents. In the future setting up the tent should be a breeze now that I know the importance of staking and remember how the poles are situated. The poles use a color coding system that makes things very easy once you realize it's there. Overall so so happy with this purchase. It's an excellent value for the price!
And we did just that. We bought this tent 3 days before we sent out for our first camping trip and it was the best decision we made after contemplating to go smaller and cheaper. Can’t go wrong with the biggest tent they had plus it was on sale for $200. Great space for kids in the star viewing area and plenty of room for 2-3 queen sized air mattresses. Outside cover for morning haze and has its own closed off patio to leave shoes or flip flops outside. If I could gift this to someone I would and they wouldn’t have to worry about their first camping trip Recommend getting this if your family needs the space and wants to enjoy camping like you’re relaxing in your own rooms.
It's basically a house! Not really, but sort of. It's so roomie and gives a really nice space inside of it, and the star gazing queen sized pop out is awesome for those star filled nights. I haven't used it in the rain yet, but so far in dry weather it's been awesome! Standing up in it is also a real pro, no need to be all crouched over while inside. I will say, you do need a LOT of floor space to sit it on so not the best if you're tight on space or have very unlevel ground.
Bought this tent for a last minute family trip slept 5 of us in the 3 “rooms” super comfortably with some extra space in the middle. I made sure to waterproof the tent with spray and the tent held up two nights with constant on and off rain really well with no leaking. Also made sure to stake the tent really well and it held up the strong gusts as well. Definitely recommend it a little bright in the morning because it's bright color but I'd rather it be bright than extra hot inside. You do need more than one person to set it up comfortably because it is a pretty big tent.
This tent is great and huge. Unfortunately, when we opened the tent and set it up, there was a hole. We were able to use it anyways since we did not have time to try and return or get a new one. This tent fit our family of 4 and dog perfectly. Very spacious. Like others recommend buy your own 10” stakes because the stakes that come with it are quite small. I am 5’9 and my husband is 6’1 and we had plenty of room. We loved the entry area for shoes and a 5x7 rug fit there perfectly. It was easy to put together and take down. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the hole
It’s an alright tent, I’ve definitely owned better. The first two nights I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how all of these bugs kept getting in, then my teen found the “plug in” space and I saw that it was just a giant hole leading outside. We used a pool patch we had on hand to cover it up.
Make sure when you're setting the tent up that it is stretched all the way out my siblings didn't do that, and it rained and water filled the tent. Even after we stretched all the way out made sure it was good. A little water still got in there but nothing to cancel the whole tent amount. I also wish it was a tad bigger in the center.
I purchased this tent from Walmart onlinr and unfortunately, it came with missing parts and defects. As you can see in the photos, some of the tent poles and connections don’t fit properly, and pieces were either missing or not stitched/assembled correctly. This made it difficult to set up and unstable once standing. I believe it's a factory defect. The material itself looks decent, but the lack of proper parts made the tent undtable for camping. Very disappointing experience, since I expected a complete and ready-to-use product.
Well I’m a bit disappointed, first time setting up the tent and it has two holes on the bottom. Thinking about returning it . Otherwise, the tent is big and spacious.
Went camping to Lava Hot Springs ID (for weather ref) 2 weeks ago with my family so we had 7 tents including a 1 person tent . We left to spend the day on the river in the city . A few hours later we come back to our house with a tear /rip . Out of the seven THIS was the only one !! It's not like it was suuuuper windy . Maybe bad luck , I don't know . Unfortunately I was with my young kids, fortunately we brought a heater with us . We were able to return it and purchased a completely different one . It's cute , but I wouldn't trust it .
