We love Pamela's Gluten-Free Bread Mix! It makes up well in our basic bread machine and it is so fresh and delicious. You can't even tell it is gluten-free! It makes my husband so happy because he has to stay gluten free for his health. He's lost over 20lbs and the weightl stays off not eating gluten! Thanks Pamela's Bread for such a wonderful bread. We are grateful to find it available online at Walmart!
Buying gluten-free bread has been so hit or miss lately. Probably 40% of the time when I buy bread now, there has been something wrong with the package because the bread has either been hard or it's moldy. So, I decided it was time to make my own. I tried Pamela's, because it has such a good reputation. I have used the gluten-free flour before and it was good. The gluten-free bread mix did not disappoint. The final product turned out awesome. The taste and texture was good. The mix is so very easy to use. I baked it in a pan, because I couldn't find the paddle for my bread machine. lol! I love the fact that you put all of the ingredients in the stand mixer and do not have to add the warm water to the yeast or kneed the bread. One thing I will add, is that you need to use regular yeast, not the fast acting, when adding it directly to the flour. I discovered this after I made my first loaf and it made a huge difference. Very easy to make, tasty, I highly recommend.
This makes the BEST gf bread, in the breadmaker! It is delicious! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Comes out amazing. Hard to believe it's gluten free. Great taste.
i also use this mix for a pizza crust . it is the best.
i have used this product in the past and loved the bread. i am anxious to use it again and love that its in larger quantity
After buying store bought gluten free bread, a few different brands, I knew there must be a better solution. So the solution I came up with is "make your own stupid"! So I bought a bread machine. Bought 3 different flours and I started making my own gluten free bread. I admit the first couple were so-so but edible. Now that I have been at it awhile I have learned how to really make gluten free bread via the bread machine. All 3 flours produced decent bread but Pamela's Bread Mix so far has produce bread closes to the taste of real bread. Of course by real bread I mean bread using wheat. If you are thinking of making your own bread I suggest using this flour and don't get frustrated when you start, it is different from using wheat based bread, but you'll quickly get used to it. I am 78 years old and still learning.
Have not used the product yet. However, the package of flour was broken open in the packing envelope. That was probably the fault of the delivery company.
This came in 4 lb. bag that as damaged. There was bread mix all over the bag and inside the shipping bag.
I think they have made changes to the ingredients. This used to be the best gluten free bread mix but now it's very dry and tasteless. it quickly becomes thick and stale within hours of baking.
