So far, so good.
I bought this as a deterrent for I do not think it will stop a serious thief. One would have to hacksaw for while for it to be taken off. The price was good and it does give me some piece of mind. If one is going to leave their boat in a stall, marina, or private dock, I would get the device that attaches to one of the bolt/nuts that holds the motor to the transom. Mine is going to be in a barn that no one can see from the road. Having insurance would be good since motors are costly. I give it four stars just because it hasn't been tampered with yet. If a thief tries to steal and fail, I'll give it five. Time will tell.

didn't fit 2016 Suzuki 6hp
The Panther wouldn't fit a 2016 Suzuki 6hp so I bought the Trimax Outboard Motor Lock wich easily fit.

Dis not work on a 1986 Evinrude 9.9
I was not able to make it lock, the clamps on my 1986 Evinrude 9.9 were too thick for the hasp to close and lock.

Bad design
Transom of my canoe is not wide enough to allow lock to slide on from side.
