A friend just gave me a very old wood cockoo clock. It is beautiful, but very dusty and dirty. I knew Murphy's was my go to for cleaning it. I diluted the soap with water, and cleaned the clock with a soft bristle brush. It came out far better than expected. It shines beautifully! The whole family has commented on how stunning this old clock looks, and all I did was carefully clean it with diluted Murphy's! Thanks for this awesome product. Now I'll start the clock repair.
I have to agree with the other reports of this product, not cleaning as well and not leaving the luster that he used to. I do hope you consider reverting back to the original formula. I would think you'd be putting customer satisfaction over profits.
Not a fan of the liquid…too watered down! Where's the paste? Bring back the paste! I bought a case of 20 years ago, I'm own my last jar
I have always used Mrs. Murphy soap for all of the wood floors/furniture and even removing oil/stains from clothes before washing. Now with the new look/same formula, it's hardly the same formula. It's watered down, less thick, need to use more than the original. Disappointing. I understand marketing with change but it's NOT the same. Even comparing my old original to the new original, the difference is huge. Please reconsider your marketing or formula….bottom line is profit but quality is worth more…
I have used Murphy oil soap for years but something has changed. The color is lite and pale and it doesn't even smell the same. It still cleans but I'm using more to get the same cleaning results. I'm sure they are going to say nothing has changed but anyone who used this in the past would see the difference.
I like the original product better. Completely different mixture, texture and scent. Very disappointed in whatever you did to change this product. Used to leave my wood glowing;.now it's just a drab mess. I had to use the 2 other cleaners to get the drab slime film off of my table that was left by your product. You were very dishonest in pretending and marketing that this was the same product. It is nothing like the old product and you have displayed a very disappointing lack of honesty and integrity.
I need to look for a new cleaner after 40 years! It will be hard to replace Murphys. I'm angry with the change. Likely prompted by greed because it it NOT a better product. I have been a loyal user of Murphy's Oil Soap for years because it was a reliable, trusted product that safely cleaned and conditioned my wood surfaces. However, I recently purchased a new bottle and was extremely disappointed to discover that the formula has clearly changed — and not for the better. The new version is lighter in color, thinner in consistency, and noticeably different in performance. It no longer provides the same rich, nourishing clean that the original vegetable oil soap formula did. The label still claims “original formula,” but the ingredient list tells a different story. Adding plant-based detergents and synthetic ingredients may check marketing boxes, but it has fundamentally altered a product that people trusted for generations. I feel misled as a customer. There was no clear notification that the formula had changed, and longtime users like myself are left with an inferior product that does not live up to Murphy's original reputation. Please reconsider this reformulation — or at least be honest with customers about the changes you've made.
Bring back the original! The new scent is an ASSAULT on the senses- to the point of being noxious; and difficult to clean per instructions, (for someone with decades of experience with this particular product) leaving streaks on every surface using Berkey water filtration for dilution. I did a side by side comparison with “the original” formula to satisfy my own curiosity, and the streaking said it all. Why ruin a good thing? It's a shame to see good products ruined with cheap ingredients. And to be gaslit with the “original” being branded up front and center on the label… come on.
I bought Murphy's Oil today and have never been more disappointed. After years of using this growing up and loving it, it has most definitely changed for the worse. My house has a HORIFFIC Citronella smell. Citronella is fine outside but who in the World wants their house to wreak of Citronella. So disappointing!! Please bring back the original formula and smell or you've lost a customer for life!! I used to love the smell of the true original Murphy's Oil.
Murphy's Oil Soap( just now 9/27/2024 1:30 am) destroyed the finish on my Blanket Chest. Yes, I diluted it. I also Googled it and read the bottle . I wish I could Post a picture but this won't let me. . I am devastated and in tears and have no idea how to move forward to fix this .
