Patak’s butter chicken simmer sauce does it for me anytime I crave butter chicken . It is slightly spicy but not painfully spicy. The flavor is slightly sweet and tastes pretty close to homemade. If you are addicted to butter chicken go get you some Patak’s
I have used this product for Butter Chicken for pork as well! We love the easy use, flavor it delivers and the texture is very smooth and creamy. Often times i add some cream OR almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk for more richness. If you want more spicy just add ground red pepper as per your taste.
It's not spicy at all, being a classic butter chicken sauce. I add my own seasonings as well to brighten it up [turmeric, curry powder, garlic, onion] but its incredible even on its own. Butter chicken normally takes a long time to prepare but this cuts it way down. If you like Indian food, give it a shot!
It was easy to use. I seasoned and browned my chicken thighs then cut them into bite size pieces and used the jarred sauce. I let it all simmer together and served it over Carolina brand yellow rice and served with leftover greens. My family loved it and requested I make it again. We also served it over prepared great value tri colored quinoa and had with toasted Naan bread and green beans. Delish!
For the oerson who knows little about traditional East Indian cooking styles and wants to get a hint, then try this quick fixer. As a novice at my 1st experience with thus type of cuisine, I was introduced to this mild curry flavor sauce, "try this for starters." It has always been my 'go-to dish' when dining out East Ibdian. On the hone-front, you really can't mess this one up. Since I don't really like to be long in the kitchen, I pair it with (5) flash frozen chicken breasts/tenders in the skillet, empty the jar on top, toss in a mircowave soft pack of quick basmati rice %26 some fresh veggies, put a lid over the mixture on low heat. It cooks in about 25 minutes (%232-3 on electric element), or until I start to smell it. And its done. I must admit, it tastes better the 2nd day, after the flavors have had a chance to permeate overnight. Of course, adjust your portions to your family size. But that's the basic of how I use the sauce. Adjust cooking times to accommodate potatoes or when to add your veggies. Give it a try, for something different every now %26 then. I hope you enjoy it. I always keep 1 jar in the pantry.
Very smooth consistency. Taste is very authentic. I commonly add 1 tablespoon to any meal as part of the seasoning process or use a modest amount as a dip or on a sandwich as a condiment. The smell and flavor are not overbearing. It has a perfect mild savory flavor that will enhance just about any meal. It is perfect for multiple uses. Heat level 2/10 flavor 9/10 ease of use 10/10
not a bunch of chemicals but real food ingredients. tastes great. add hot peppers if you like a bigger punch. this says to use immediately after opening, but since I'm a household of one, i freeze it in 1/4 cup cube trays.
We are big eaters of Indian food in our house and Patak's is our go to brand when we're not cooking from scratch. This Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce is one of our favorites. You get a minimum of 5 servings from a jar but if you have a light eater you can get that up to 6 servings. On the flip side, if you aren't going to eat all of it the jar makes a perfect storage for the leftovers. Pour the hot sauce over a serving of Jasmine rice for real authentic taste. This is one of the quickest and easiest meals - heat up the sauce, cook an appropriate amount of rice and serve with a side of naan bread. Yum!!
This is a by weekly go-to for my family. My kids love it so much that I usually have to get extra jars to have enough for seconds! It tastes like the sauce you'd find in an authentic Indian restaurant- so good with flavors of garam masala, tomato, turmeric %26 ginger. We just add a little cream to it once it's heated.
I am Indian and this doesn't taste like butter chicken. Tastes more like the orange sauce they give with dosa/idli in south India. I may not know many things in life, but I know my butter chicken.
