Patak's Spicy Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce, 15 oz

Nothing beats Pataks. Nothing. Except going to an Indian joint. Then it's better. You can add stuff to it to make it as good though. Marinate chicken (2 lbs) the night before: yogurt (0.5-1 cup, garam/tandoori masala (1 tbsp), turmeric (1 tsp). Rough chop one onion and pepper, lightly cook them so they keep their crunch, remove it. Cook the chicken thoroughly, remove it. Put some garlic ginger paste in oil (more than you think would be necessary, go big), get it sizzling, add the pataks, fill the jar with water and swish it around so you don't miss out on any. Add some tomato puree (8-12oz). Add the cooked chicken in then the onions and peppers. Cover and watch it 5-10 minutes. Be proud of yourself, you're doing a great job. Optional, add a bit of cream, give it a stir. Enjoy with rice or naan or whatever you like. Bam! Restaurant quality from a jar. You can skip a number of these steps from none to all and it's still good because Pataks is the best!

This is a great sauce to try if you're just learning about Indian food! It is a nice, thick sauce and it clings to chicken or paneer well. The fenugreek and paprika are very strong and add a unique depth of flavor. While this sauce promised to be very spicy, the heat was surprisingly minimal. That didn't not stop us from eating it all though, and I definitely be making this again soon!

This product is delicious! I followed the directions for cooking it with chicken and it was simple and quick! It was savory and spicy. For the average person it may be too spicy, but it was the perfect amount of heat for me. The label did show the 3 peppers hot. I would buy this sauce again!

We love Indian food, we always go out to buy and nowadays for a family of 5 it's not feasible. I have tried to make it at home and this Patak's butter chicken masala is fantastic! Butter chicken is our favorite. It tastes amazing and great step by step instructions to follow.

this was my first experience with butter chicken. so i dont have a preconceived standard. i liked it. it wasn't overly tomatoey. good spice. seemed a little hallow on the savory end, but, again, im unfamiliar. i kindve expected it to be richer/creamier, or have more depth of flavor, i guess, bc its called butter chicken.

I'm overall impressed by the Pataks Spicy Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce. It's creamy, flavorful and adds a nice kick that livens up chicken and rice for a quick meal. The sauce brings a great balance of spices and richness without being overwhelming. It's not quite the restaurant-authentic curry, but pretty good choice for conveniency and price.

While I haven't yet tried this as a full meal, I did give the sauce a taste. It is more spicy than I had anticipated. I was thinking it would be a muted small bit of spice level, but it's far more than that (at least for me). If you like spicy things this would be a good sauce for a meal over maybe chicken and rice for you.

Item top was already popped up when received. Since this was my first purchase, unsure if color was normal. Requested a refund last week , waiting for decision.

This is the last in a long line of broken groceries mailed to me or delivered from my local Walmart that was damaged beyond repair/use. Their response is that I have to mail the broken item back at my own expense ($5 minimum cost) to see “if” they approve a $5 refund.
