Peerless Replacement Strainer for 3-1/2" Drains. Includes Stopper and Post. Chrome

It's been only one day since I bought this product, and I usually like to wait and take a longer time to prove a product before deciding to write a review. However, because of the negative reviews, I thought I would go right ahead and run a test in order to prove those reviews. Based upon that test I am really glad that I bought this sink strainer/stopper. Those negative reviews caused me to keep searching from store to store, but when I got tired of searching and doubting because of negative reviews, I decided to just buy the product and find out for myself because I had been trying to find it for months. So as soon as I returned home from the store I opened the packet and positioned the stopper in the sink: the fit was perfect!!!! I turned the tap on and collected enough water to cover the stopper and the bottom of the sink, and walked away. An hour later I went back to check and not a drop of water was lost, so I added more water and washed a few dishes, then I left that water in the sink for the rest of the evening, and still, not a drop of water was lost. I am very happy I decided to buy and try it out. I am extremely pleased, especially since it cost less than two dollars each. The post is described as chrome, not metal, but it is firm, sturdy material. Furthermore, the fact that it is chrome doesn't prevent it from performing as designed; it works just as expected. So do like I did: set the negative reviews aside and for that price try it for yourself, as long as you know it's the shape and size your sink uses. You might be pleasantly surprised!

this doesnt hold water in my sink any better than i one im replacing. maybe its my sink.....

I put the stopper in the drain, and all of my dishwater drained right out.

it didn't work for me so I gave them up and used a jar to hey it works

didnt fit at all, wouldn't hold water once I figured out the middle unscrews. no directions at all

Most useless sink basket I've ever seen. The stem in the middle does not move so the rubber plug does not lower into the drain. This keeps the plug from sealing so all the water runs out as fast as it runs in. Come to find out the stem is just a knob that screws onto the top of the plug. I didn't have time to go back to the store so I had to take the strainer apart and just use the rubber plug like a bathtub stopper. I had to use a dish rag as a strainer and some stuff still got down the drain. I expected way better from Peerless than this. I hope their other products haven't become this bad.

Product packaging in the green packaging is awful and a struggle. if use just try to cut as they instruct, you risk a serious hand injury. Not worth the effort.
