I do a lot of quilting. I like high loft batting. It's hard to find. Polyester batting shows the quilting up more than cotton. Walmart beats prices on batting. It's thinner than I would like, but the consensus is, batting is not as thick anymore as it used to be.
great value, walmart has the best price by far for batting This is slightly thinner than the standard batting, but I think its pretty close in thickness to many at higher prices. It is on a roll so its pretty easy to roll out, I never have it fall apart or rip- I can even pull a lil bit on it without it pulling apart. I use on a long arm without issues.
The quality of this batting is great. The ease of receiving a whole roll at once which I can not do at the local store. I didn't have to drive or carry it. I am delighted to know of this service and will use it in the future.
Sews great! I love it. For some reason I can't use quilters cotton thread in this or my Brother sewing machine. I bought the brothers polyester embroidery thread and it works great in both.
I make a lot of quilts for Quilts for Kids and we are required to use low loft batting. This batting fills that requirement. It is a good quality batting that stands up to repeated hot washing. It can be pieced together to use up small pieces. The quilts I make for Kids averages 40x50 in size and I can get about 10 quilts from one roll. At this price that is less than $2.00 a quilt. I can't get that by buying a crib size package anywhere.
I just finished using this batting in a baby quilt. It was great to work with. Very even in thickness all through out. It sewed like a dream with very little lint residue inside the bobbin casing. The extra wide width makes it great for bed size quilts- no piecing. I plan to buy more of this batting when I finish using this bolt.
When I first began quilting I bought this type batting in the individual size in a bag and used different brands, sizes, etc. and sometimes used the more traditional looking 80/20 batting, depending on my needs and what was available. After Covid when things got scarce I bought a package of polyester batting and it was almost as thin as panty hose, extremely thin so I didn't buy anything else after that but the cotton 80/20. I started ordering it by the roll and it was so nice to just cut off what I needed and to always have it available when I needed it with less waste. I recently took out a throw made several years ago with the polyester batting and it was so soft and fluffy I decided to try it again. As I was shopping for a roll of batting I saw this and it was much less expensive so I decided to take a chance, fearing it would be see-through and I would have to double it. It turned out to be a good weight and thickness, and it is easy to work with. I am very happy with the quality and the price.
It starts out as a nice weight batting. It comes on a cardboard paddle which causes it to have lots of wrinkles. I spray it with water and toss it in the dryer on low for 9 minutes. The batt expands when it is dried. I make ten donation quilts a month, so I don't want to fuss with the batting for each quilt. I prefer bulk batting on a roll. I gave it a 3 because for someone who makes a few quilts a year it wouldn't be a nuisance. Don't think I'll purchase it again.
The Quilt Batting had been Damaged by some Blue Liquid of Some Type; possibly detergent or Cleaner, etc The Package appeared to be Re-Taped as if it had been open %26 fell into some type of Liquid; it was wet upon Opening %26 had a Blue Coloring that Stained my Fingers %26 Hands! It seem that Fed-Ex should have returned this to Walmart because of Damage so Walmart could have Re-placed the order I was Notified that this order was going to be late and am wondering now if this is the Reason Why? I tried Calling Customer service %26 asked to speak to a Supervisor %26 was told after a Couple of "Holds" that a there would be a Long Wait, but the guy was insistent on helping me. He gave me an Email to contact that in turn doesn't even do anything but refer me back to doing this. So thankful for the Return Policy which I did return this Item to a local Walmart (Eden, NC) I just wanted to share with a Supervisor the Concerns over this %26 the Poor Delivery Service of Fed-Ex Customer Service always appears to be in a Foreign Country %26 the agents are hard to Understand
The order is incorrect!! I ordered 2 polyester batting and I received cotton batting how can you help me. I would like the polyester batting please!!
