Pentel Twist-Erase III Mechanical Pencil (0.5mm), Black Barrel

This is a great mechanical pencil. I bought it for my 14 year old son about 6 months ago. This has been the only one in 3 years of buying pencils he has not broken. I'm buying him an extra one just in case he loses the first one.

I have switched to using this pencil exclusively. The mechanics are solid, it doesn't jam or release the lead, and the eraser extends and contracts smoothly. It handles like an expensive top tier pencil, but is priced more in line with a cheaper one. Cannot recommend it strongly enough!

Love this pencil. We have 3 of them. Nice grip, refillable lead and eraser, functions well without any problems, durable, and .5 lead is a nice thin width for clear precise writing.

I brought this 3 weeks ago needing a mechanical pencil. With big hands this is perfect for me light, sturdy and easy to use. Awesome product

Had these pencils all through undergrad and now into grad school. I lost one and felt the need to replace it. Was a little cheaper when they were available in the store but still worth the money. Very pleased! :)

I read the reviews on this pencil before I ordered and now I see why the good reviews. Lead advances easily and eraser are the two advantages to other mechanical pencils I've tried.

This has the feel of a pen but it's a pencil. The eraser looks like it's plenty big. I'm glad I decided to purchase it.

I decided to buy a nice, expensive pencil for the first day of school and chose this one. It is very comfortable and has an excellent grip – it's not too far away from the tip that you have to hold it in the middle of the pencil. Also, it pulls apart into two pieces so you can put the lead in like that, instead of having to take the eraser out like the cheaper pencils. There are a few things I don't like though: The tip isn't retractable like I thought it said (the description was talking about the 3cm eraser), and it doesn't shoot out enough lead that you never have to click it, but you can go longer than most pencils.. Even though its not what I expected, I'm still happy with the quality.
