Perky-Pet Copper Panorama Wild Bird Feeder - 2 lb

I've turned in to the old lady who talks to birds; yet, I can't stop feeding them once I started, and now, OH MY GOSH, if I can get the photo off my phone, I should add all I have done. I have a couple of this style among others , and not only do the birds like them, but the squirrels do not drain them daily.

This bird feeder is very well made. It's not too heavy which helps in hanging the feeder when full of wild bird feed on a not very strong tree branch (my chosen location for bird watching). The birds love it so much that I have to fill it up again. I'm going to have to rig up a way to catch the seed cast off when the birds eat. In their eager eating, most of the seed ends up on the ground.

I have used this feeder for many years and have seen every kind of bird in the area feed from it. Birds as small as Pygmy nuthatches and as large as doves…even a couple of varieties of woodpeckers. It holds a good quantity of seeds. It does not clog unless it is in the rain. It does have drainage holes, but the crumbs from birds eating is almost dust so that occasionally blocks things when wet. I bought an extra one this time (a renegade raccoon sent it crashing down. Two stories).

As a Certified Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary we have dozens of different style feeders... some good, some not so much. This is by far the birds' favorite tube style feeder and lasts the longest without squirrels destroying it. The inside cup attached to the lid came off after about a week, but we were able to super glue it back on and so far so good.

Prior to this Perky Pet Copper Panorama Bird Feeder, I have bought two other, the wood made and plastic bird feeders, none of them would last for a week before the squirrels chew the top of the feeder off, so they can get to the food inside the container. Now, with this copper made feeder, all the squirrels can do is claim on the top of the feeder then fall off to the ground. I think this copper feeder will withstand the squirrels attack for a long time.

Item arrived in damaged Walmart box with no extra packaging inside the box other than a small amount of crumpled paper. No surprise, the bird feeder arrived damaged. And the color discoloration you see on the copper top was not dust, but just poor quality. If you are looking for a cheap item, this qualifies.

I ordered 2 of these bird feeders. Upon opening the box, one could see they were poorly packed. One was scratched up but is still usable while the other was cracked in multiple places rendering it unusable. I have yet to hear back about a replacement or refund. I will not order another online from this shipper.

1.Shipped in flimsy box, box was crushed like an accordian. 2. No packing material inside box. 3. Plastic tube on both units are broken. I'm very disappointed. shipper let us all down and should have to ship me 2 for free!
