Pero Instant Original Natural Beverage 7 oz

In the early 1960s my father was stationed in Stuttgart, West Germany, it was there that I was introduced to 'Caro Kaffee' known as Pero in the United States. The recipe did not change nor did the flavour, it's a great way to have a late night hot drink, without caffeine.

I had to quit coffee a while ago because it was really bothering my gut and aggravating my GERD. I turned to Pero because I remembered my grandma drinking it when I was a kid, and I am so glad I did! My Daily Ritual: It has been part of my morning for six months now, and I honestly don't even miss coffee anymore. I treat it exactly like I used to treat my coffee, but even better: The Latte Process: I add vanilla, cinnamon, and Stevia directly to my oat milk. The Foam: I use my little handheld blender to froth the mixture until it's thick and flavorful. The Result: I pour that over my Pero to create a custom Pero Latte every morning. I like this better than another grain beverage I was using. It tastes much more like actual coffee. I will still get the other for a more grain beverage taste when I need a change. I have to hydrate to help my kidneys, so water is my priority. I have a problem with coffee anyway because of acid reflux. I drink acid free and decaf coffee now and then and I am glad I found Pero since acid free decaf is becoming scarce.

I was disappointed when I could no longer drink coffee for medical reasons, and I tried several coffee substitutes. Of the ones I've tried, Pero is my favorite. It has a rich, warm aroma and taste, and with a little sweetener (I use stevia extract) and milk, it's delicious and satisfies that coffee desire. I prefer Pero hot (4 grams with 12 oz of water) with 1.5 oz of low fat milk. It's very tasty, and helps get the day off to a great start. Recommended.

Best caffeine free coffee alternative you'll get before we get into chemicals and supplements. The most natural replacement and best tasting replacement for decaf you'll find. Try adding cream and vanilla syrup, it's just as good as Starbucks (let's be real, did you expect caffeine free coffee to taste gourmet?) don't spill this, the mess is very very hard to clean

love this.. cannot have caffeine and this works as a substitute for the coffee that I love. it's not coffee, but it's great if you have to have a replacement.

I mix it with hot chocolate to make Mocha, and it's a pretty decent coffee substitute for that. It's got a strong, slightly bitter taste, and it dissolves pretty quickly.

we stopped coffee due to its harshness on our stomach which was contributing to silent reflux. pero satisfies like coffe with full body and great flavor. wonderful product.

I really enjoy drinking Pero. I drink it without sugar or cream, and it has a nice smooth coffee flavor with just the right bitterness. I've tried chicory coffee substitutes and they just don't compare to the great taste of Pero. Honestly, I drink 4 or 5 cups a day. It is a little clumpy when mixing, but worth the effort.

I can't recall if I had already discovered by the time I ordered this that I can't abide the taste of chicory. I can definitely taste it in this. Seemed to dissolve ok. isn't JUST chicory, so YMMV.
