i was expecting the mat to be a little thicker and more insulated,but doesn't matter because my dog ripped it to shreds.

I use the pet pad for my farm cats. They seem to like it, I don't speak kitty but they seem to be happy to have a soft warm place to sleep.

I wasn't sure after reading reviews how my senior cat would like this, but for the price I figured I'd bite. It was a Xmas gift for him, and he IMMEDIATELY loved it when I placed him on it for the first time. He's 15 and gets cold easily, so I put it on top of our freezer so it's always warm. He's on it more than he's off it lol.

My cat liked it to the point she offered me a dog treat and told me I was a good boy!

I like that my dog seems to favor using this thermal bed over other beds she has. One dislike: Because it is so thin, I put it on top of a regular dog bed. Some may not like that the bottom material makes a crunching-like sound while my dog moves around. It doesn't seem to bother her, but the sound may bother an owner.

I have an older dog nearing the end of her life so she's always cold. It's cushy on one side and waterproof on the other. Directions say to remove the insert before washing. I opened it to take the insert out, and it was upside down, the shiny side was on bottom and batten was on top. I carefully peeled it off the top layer hoping not to damage it. Instead of a quick wipe with cleaner, I had to take it outside and douse it with oxiclean, let it work about an hour then rinse it over the deck railing. Luckily it survived. After washing the cover I slid it back in with the silver side up.

My cat didn't like it. I think it was the crinkly sound it makes. However, I put it at the end of my bed as the days are getting cooler. It helps reflect heat back up under my covers. I'll probably use it until Spring. And for that reason, I'm glad I bought it. My cat can just keep sleeping in a pile of fleece blankets we have set out for him.

Feral Cats will NOT use it, even after I washed it.

This product is very cheaply made and does not hold up to the movement of animals (dogs or cats). The cats did sleep on it but they will sleep on a paper towel tossed on the floor too. The Mylar mat on the inside was placed in the casing backwards so there was no reflective heat. And the insulating padding did little to prevent cold from seeping through. Zippers in 2 of them broke within a week.

Don't bother!! I was so excited about getting this self warming “bed”, I use the term “bed” very loosely!! It's just a thin top layer of fleece with a cheap piece of fabric on the bottom. The “thermal” insert inside, sounds and looks like a sheet of FOIL! Loud,
