Phillips TV

Nancy February 1, 2026

Great picture! Color is brilliant. Clear sound. Size is perfect for our home. Was simple to set up. Would like to know how to keep it from automatically kicking off after being on for a while. Have gone into settings and clicked stay on. But still goes off. Otherwise very satisfied.

works really well. great picture

Kat November 2, 2025

The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have multicast from a PC to the screen. you can do that with most Android TVs. however, it does have Chromecast if you use Google Chrome. I don't use Google Chrome and it does allow you to use an HDMI cable. I really like the picture and I really like that. it doesn't lag like an Android TV. for a TV that is about the same price. it's much less laggy than the one I got from insignia

I LOVE MY PHILLIPS TV

MARIA April 1, 2026

I purchased this PHILLIPS TV for my bedroom. I have poor vision but with this TV I am able to remove my glasses and the picture is clean and clear. This is one of the many items that I have purchased at Walmart that on a scale from 1 to 10, I will give it a 100!

Great failure for the money picture is high depth of sound is great the only downfall is the instructions on how to operate certain functions with the TV you have to do research. one being how to set the timer for sleep and there's a couple other issues but other than that it's a fantastic unit

HDR handshake issues with Xbox Series X

Edward October 30, 2025

I picked up this TV recently as I was looking for a budget friendly TV that I could use for my bedroom. The picture is excellent and I have no problem with how the TV works just for simple viewing of TV and film content. As a long time, Samsung customer, I have become accustomed to TVs working the way they should. When I purchased this TV, I was looking to spend under $300 and as much as I wanted to buy a Samsung I couldn’t find one in my price range because everything is so expensive nowadays. So after reviewing several similar models, I decided on this Phillips television. I’m disappointed in this unit because it has HDR handshake issues with all of my game consoles. With the Xbox one series X for example, I can’t enable HDR 10 because if I do I get a black screen every time I try to launch a game and then quit the game to go back to the Xbox home screen. Even with my ancient PlayStation three every time I launch a game I get a black screen. I connect everything with the latest HDMI 2.1 cable into the TV. And yes, for those savvy reviewers out there I am aware that this TV is not HDMI 2.1 capable, but I always use the latest and greatest HDMI cables. The problem is this TV was not built for any gaming whatsoever. Granted I accepted the fact that buying in a sub $300 television would mean I would not get a refresh rate of 120 FPS I’m OK with that but I went into this purchase with the understanding that I would at least get a 60 Hz refresh rate and the ability to use HDR 10 on my Xbox one series X. Now to the sound. Like most TVs, the sound is very inadequate. I don’t fault Phillips for that because I think most TV manufacturers know that most people if they care about sound are either going to invest in a surround sound system with a receiver or buy a good sound bar. I ended up going the sound bar route and bought a reliable Samsung unit that is CEC capable, like this TV. The reason I mentioned that is because with CEC no matter what brand you use, you should be able to turn on the TV and both the TV your sound bar, Roku, etc. should be able to turn on and off without any issue. I have a Roku ultra connected to this TV and surprisingly the Roku remote can turn off the TV but the TV doesn’t recognize the command from the Roku remote to turn on the TV. I attribute this to Phillips quirky build of this model of television. I think if I were only using the TVs internal smart features, I probably wouldn’t complain so much if this was a TV that was simply being used for content viewing and not for anything else. As long as you don’t intend to connect this TV to a game console, it is an okay buy.

Good except for general TV channels

JJ November 4, 2025

Overall this is a good TV. Only downside, it does not allow for TV channel programming. Maybe minor to sum but for me, its kind of annoying to scroll through all the channels to find the one you want. Can set up user but you have to select every channel change. Again, overall for a TV but some functionality might be an issue.

Magnavox works good on antenna

Online January 10, 2026

Years ago I purchased a Phillips fat screen and had to return it the same day, because it wouldn't work with antenna channels/ it wouldn't recognize all the channels. This latest Phillips 43" ultra HD will not keep track of the time of shows/time won't set and stay accurate on the channel guide, information of the channels through channel guide, displays (No Event Information) If thats not bad enough? The key board does not work! Phillips needs Magnavox to come back. Hey Phillips, help me with this, with a live agent, not a machine designed to drive me away. You all know what you did, and didn't do, to the Tv's

Very Disappointed

Laura December 29, 2025

Everything’s great until I realize d that every time I left the house and came back I had to re- enter my Google password. First I called Phillips TV on several occasions, they all blamed the internet connection, saying it had to be an intermittent signal. So I called Comcast who said Ok and ran some tests and admitted there was a problem with the line. They sent a technician out who argued the fact, because it was the Google password, not the internet password that I was having to type in. Regardless I had him run an Ethernet cable to the TV hoping that would take care of the problem. It did Not! I also couldn’t get Pluto on the darned TV! I called Phillips TV there told me was that this TV didn’t have the programming installed in it to be able to down load the app! I was like You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!!! They said “No, sorry I’m not”. And after that there wasn’t really much more that could be said. Except that i said “that didn’t make any sense to me”! So I return the TV and after a lot of research I bought a TCL 43” class S5 series 4K 43S551G. I like it a lot better! It has all the same features more. Sound is better! I think the picture is too because I have it in a bright room.

Tawnya January 4, 2026

Picture quality is poor. It is advertised as 4k yet you are unable to run in 4k mode. It will not allow you the option of changing resolution. Upon further investigation, google states older versions are not capable of 4k and automatically adjusts to lower resolution. Specifically the 7652 version. And not only that, it’s advertised with ambient features but has no setting options. A total scam!
