I had never owned a controllable lightbulb before—let alone one that changes colors and can be remotely controlled for color selection and on/off scheduling. These bulbs are incredibly easy to use and surprisingly fun. A funny moment really sold me on them. Last Christmas, my sister visited with my nephew, and we hadn’t told her we had replaced our lightbulbs. While she was sitting in the living room talking with my wife, I quietly started changing the lamp’s color from white to red, then to blue. Suddenly, she slid away from the lamp on the couch, glanced at me, and asked if I had just seen what happened—right as I switched the light back to its normal white glow. The look on her face was priceless. I was laughing too hard to explain, so my wife finally told her the lamp had a controllable bulb. She was genuinely impressed—and so am I. These bulbs are both practical and a lot of fun. Note: The attached images have not been modified and were just taken by my iPhone.
We switched from the GE Cync bulbs because they kept disconnecting from the Google Home and we always had a problem with them going offline. Since getting the Phillips we have not had any problems at all. There are ton of features not available with the GE bulbs . Recommend for anyone using Google Home!
This is a great product because the brightness is very well. It also comes with two lightbulbs if you get the two pack and that's great because both of them can't this is a great product because the brightness is very well. It also comes with two lightbulbs if you get the two pack and that's great because both of them can connect separately so you can put either one in a different bedroom which is better than having the two only connect to one that's very good. I would recommend it a lot. I got it for me and my spouse. connect separately so you can put either one in a different bedroom which is better than having the two only connect to one that's very good. I would recommend it a lot. I got it for me and my spouse. To use it you have to download and app and its a bunch of different settings and colors and options to play with and it connects to the app using bluetooth and wifi, even without the app it's still a great light bulb and its bright and also great on electricity
These are the bulbs and the app I'd been waiting for. 60w equivalent is perfect for apartment bulbs. The color range is excellent, accepting both hex and cct values. The app is surprisingly functional and responsive. The level of customization is awesome. No issues two months in.
Love the options for my lamp now! First of all, they were fairly easy to set up with a schedule. One of the lamps is in a darker area with a plant on the table in front of it. The grow light setting is on from 7am to 4 pm. Then it comes back on at sunset with the other lights using a calm setting and everything goes off at midnight. If I puzzle I can turn the lamp to a brighter setting so it works better for that.
yhey are great for modern day homes and those who have the means to keep the wifi on. but if you want simple and not waste money then go regular led bulbs. granted these work even without the internet with just a switch but it would be a waste of money when a bulb is 8 to 12 bucks when an led is free to a couole of bucks. but if you have wifi and want conteol over all the lights in the house then this is for you.
work as described but app is confusing, you think you need the hue app, but the hue app only works is you have the hue hub, the qr code in the box links to another app that works the way they advertise the hue app, but they want you to buy the hub to spend more money so they don't tell you about the other app anywhere. like that there's a plant light mode with my window treatments closed during heatwaves.
it works but I do not recommend using the wiz app, it constantly glitches and it has terrible customer service, the agents take over 3 minutes to respond, and they end up ignoring any questions you have, just scan the qr code and add it through apple or google and it works instantly, save yourself the headache
Here’s the thing, I had so much trouble trying to connect to my 2.4Ghz wi-fi. Everything else was fine. I also was hoping to use on two lamps that have dimmers. One person told me I could use them on such a lamp and the other told me absolutely not. It seems the dimming feature of the lamp can cause damage to the light bulb. One person told me it would be fine as long as you leave the lamp on max light and dim them through the app. I don’t know who is speaking the truth, but I would rather not take a chance. The other issue is if someone accidentally turns off with the switch, it causes confusion with my Google home and you have to re sync by turning the lamp back on and getting it synced up again to voice command. I do like that I can now tell Google to turn them off, turn one or the other off, change the color, dim, it’s really nice. The funny thing is Google doesn’t listen to my husband. I know, I’m gonna fix that, but it was funny.
The timer function won't work without wifi connection, and after hours and hours of trying while getting creative with a LLM I finally gave up. I figured what the heck I can still use them as regular bulbs, but they flicker with this fluctuating house voltage. Granted, most do except really cheap ones and I've read this is because they are made less sensitive (non dimming, general purpose, etc) and less sensitive to voltage fluctuation. One doesn't flicker too much in my bedside lamp, so I use it for that and control its brightness with the phone app.
