My son loves it!

I was interested in this for my artistic niece. I was not disappointed. While it doesn't have a hard cover it is rather sturdy and has more pages than I was expecting. I think she will get a lot of enjoyment creating and then having it to enjoy and share her work. I will be ordering more.

I was pleasantly surprised by how big (thick) the book is! My son is an avid reader/collector of comic books and he fell in love with it! The first part explains to you how to create your OWN book. The next section gives you templates to test your skills. The final and most important part is that it includes pages and pages of “blank” comic sections for YOU to create your very own all from scratch!

I hate that fed ex messed up the inside corner of the pages in shipping but we can still use it. I picked this item because 2 of my grand-daughters love to draw and make up stories and of course grandma wants to join in the fun. This is exactly what I thought it was and we will have so much fun this weekend and weekends to come. The book lays out how to do the individual pages as it should be done with illustrations included. Then you fill your comic on the blank pages on the rest of book with your creation. It is a large book with many pages so you can actually make many short comics or series if you prefer. I already know I will be getting more of these.

Wow! I wish I could give more than five stars for this outstandingly creative “Do It Yourself” comic book! It's SO thoughtfully and well designed and made out of very high quality materials. It's a fairly large book, 12” x 8 1/4” around and it's a little bit more than 1/2” thick. The outer portion of the book is not quite hard-back material but not exactly paperback book material either. It's kind of in the middle. The outer jacket of the book is beautiful bright red with small, faint darker red polka dots (like newspaper print) and the book title on the front is big bold bright black and blue printing. Behind the book title is a large yellow star-like shape and white and gray cloud like shape similar to what you'd see in a comic book with the words “pow” or “zap” written inside them. Super clever and unique. Inside, the pages look like comic book paper, however, much thicker and better quality than in a typical comic book. The entire book is printed on both sides. The first 14 pages are instructions on how to write your comic book story, ways you can draw your comic book art, examples, etc. All very helpful information. The remaining 62 pages are filled with black outlines in different sizes and shapes which are to be filled with your artwork and story. Each page has the words: “TITLE:” and “PAGE” at the top of it so you can assign a title and page number to each page. This book is so classy and well designed it could easily be enjoyed by an adult as well as an older child. In my opinion it's way too nice for a young child as I don't think they'd appreciate it's beauty and thoughtfulness but a young child would definitely get enjoyment out of it. I like this book so much I wouldn't hesitate in saying it's one of my very favorite Walmart.com products I've ever received! Simply outstanding!

I misunderstood who this book was for. I really thought it was for someone learning to draw comics. I suppose it is good for that but this is really an intermediate level help. More helpful for those who have already done fairly well with basic comic drawing. This will help the budding comic artist with composition and so forth and I think it would be good for that and it gives you blank outlined comic set pages and you fill in the panels. Now I need to find a book for the beginner :-)

This comic book sketchbook is such a neat gift idea or even for yourself! It includes lessons tips and instructions on how to make your own comic book! This is a great summer project you can practice your drawing skills or if it's for the younger ones they can practice their writing skills, make up their own comic story or maybe just converting a person experience into a comic book adventure! Your going to love this sketchbook the outer part is a hard cardboard like material and the pages are a thicker kind of paper in each page it has the title and page tab at the top and every page has a different design to fit your writing and drawings perfectly!

Nice little book could use a better binder but is a book for kids that enjoy drawing there own comics Will bring your child to the next level of drawing and may inspire your child to do more drawings and comics it is inexpensive and a good in vestment you could maybe teach a kid that has never drawn before to draw I don't think anyone could go wrong by trying this book it might inspire a kid to become a artist some day
