Not for the faint of heart if you do not like reading and writing or doing long long questionnaires. When it says 2000 questions that's exactly what it means, 2,000 questions about you. There are questions for all ages but I would say this book is geared more towards adults. It will take some time to complete, no doubt, but in the end it may just open your eyes about yourself more than you expected. It will definitely make you think! It is kind of a cross between a diary and a biography about yourself. As I said, this is geared more towards an adult but you could use it for your child and complete some of the more simpler questions and as they get older answer more mature complicated questions. No matter how you use it it should be fun.
Not only is this a great guided self journal, some, if not all, of the questions within can be used in ice breaker situations or just general day to day conversations. There's some incredibly thoughtful and introspective questions, ones that really do help you and others have the opportunity to learn about oneself.
I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of this cover as well as the pages. This book will be able to take a lot of handling, not only now as I write in it, but perhaps through the years as it's passed down, which is my hope and intent. The pages have a nice texture to it allowing my pen to glide easily, and satisfyingly, as I answer the questions. There isn't a lot of space to write my answers which keeps me from being verbose. However, I'm enjoying the challenge/opportunity to write concise answers. I've currently been journaling my thoughts in a blank book as well as using a “Mother's” reflections type of book. What I like about this book that is not found with the others, is it asks questions that are not even touched on in the reflection book and things that I would never think about when journaling without inspiration. It's really giving me the opportunity to write original thoughts and feelings. Two random examples I pulled out as I'm writing this: Do you ever laugh at things you shouldn't? What gets you excited about life?
I received this book last week. I just got around to looking through it and I really like it. I've answered some of the questions on the first few pages. It is very thought provoking, really makes you think. Amazing way to cope with stress and it asks questions I really have to think hard on. It challenges you by answering questions you'd have never thought of about yourself
I always wanted to write a story about me for my kids and grandkids after I pass on, but it's always so hard to just find the time to sit down and write. This book has all kinds of questions about you from the fun and interesting, to the deep and intellectual. It's a great way for do you know in about yourself and for others to learn about you now or after you're gone.
I think this is an interesting and beautiful looking book. The cover is bright and interesting to look at. There are 2000 questions inside and some I can answer and some I can't. Some of the questions include things like What is your favorite popcorn topping?, Do you trust people that don't look you in the eye? & A secret you've been wanting to share. I like the idea of this book because its something I can hand down to my children someday. I don't think I would write anything super secretive or revealing in it that I wouldn't want them to know. Its a pretty sturdy book too and I don't think it will fall apart easily as long as you treat it right. I received this book for free for my honest review
This journal is filled with writing prompts and just enough space to write a sentence or two in response to the prompt (depending on how big your handwriting is). The cardstock is pleasant to touch and easy to write on. This isn't a journal for recording deep thoughts since you don't have a lot of space to respond to each prompt, but it is fun for sparking thoughts about life that are in the deep background of your consciousness, always there but not things you take out and examine very often. There are also some off the wall questions that you might never have wanted to ask yourself. The nice thing about this journal is you can skip back and forth and answer whatever you want, and if you did want to answer a question in more of an essay format you could write in a notebook instead of on the cardstock. In fact, that could be a preferable way to go about it since the kinds of questions this journal asks means that anyone who got their hands on one that was filled out would potentially have a key to guessing your passwords. That possibility is the only thing I don't like about it and the reason for one docked star.
Some of the questions are excellent and help you understand yourself, what you value and why. However, many of the questions are negative and would not be uplifting to a person to ask themselves. I like positive thinking rather than to look at my worst side. Since I own the book, I can use those questions that I like and ignore those that I think are detrimental. Therefore, I will use the book for myself but would be careful who I recommend it to. I would not recommend it to someone who is struggling with feelings of self-doubt or low self-esteem. It does help you come up with LOTS of ideas to consider for your personal history.
The questions are fun. I will enjoy this book for a while.
I thought this would be more like really answering questions. It's more like one to two Word answer questions. If you like that then this is for you but I wanted something more personal.
