The side smoker is a great addition. I have used it as a cold smoker with a smoke tube for cheese. It's perfect for delicate fish or just more room. Installation was also fairly simple.

I just bought the Pit Boss 1000SC2 pellet grill and at the same time I ordered this side smoker. I wanted extra cooking space and a way to cook dual temperature. This checked both boxes for me! It was easy to put together and add on as well. There are many ways to use this side smoker to your advantage, I had a beer can chicken and a tray of potatoes on 350* in the main barrel and a tri-tip in the side smoker running at 250*. About 4 hrs later they were both perfectly cooked! The side smoker has 3 levels going vertically that you can setup. The temperature will vary from top to bottom as well, so get to know your setup! This attachment is a game changer for sure and allows for cooking a lot at once at various temperatures!

This thing fits like a glove. Adds more room for smoking smaller things. Good investment and good quality.

Worked good except it got to hot on low setting. I had to prop the door to the dx1150 open a little bit to let some of the heat out. I wish the dx1150 had a low setting of 160 like my old treager. Maybe this can be corrected with a firmware change.

Great addition to the Austin XL pellet smoker. First use was smoking a pork butt. I expected the temp to be different in this and it was. My wireless probe was also off on its temp. Caused a longer cook than expected. Overall this is a great addition. No direct heat, plenty of smoke giving the meat exactly what you want, Flavor. If this side smoker fits your Pit Boss Grill I would highly recommend getting it.

Temp runs around 100 degrees cooler than the grill side which is good but still learning how to adjust the flue to control temp. Will be perfect for lower temp bacon slab smoking.

Awesome unit! Thermometer not accurate, shot against 2 other thermometers it read lower then actual. Easy as sin to install!

i brought this item and had it for a mo th now, todate the smoker isnt attached to my grill. The smoker was delivered and before I took it out of its packaging. I called Pitt boss customer service to make it was capable to my pitt boss autin xl 1000 grill. They said yes. Im disabled so its hard for me to lift the grill alone. although pitt boss stated the grill is compadible with both items registered and 18 calls to customer service and 3 attempts to send the necessary part to connect the smoker with the wrong adapter for connection. The smoker remains todate not attactched. Beware, it take atleast 10 days for a part if needed each! I didnt even get to see if the smoker works or not. Just beware!!! I will probably return!

Never got the smoke box they sent something else instead. Will update my review when the shipper corrects their mistake.
