Perfect Lil Percolator for Me

Davida April 19, 2025

I recently received my Presto 12-cup Percolator and, boy oh boy, I am tickled. I have never had this brand in a coffee pot before but it does the job even better than some known name brands I've used in the past. Setup was easy, perks 12-cups quickly, tastes delicious (after slight adjustment in amount of coffee needed), and keeps the coffee hot until it's all gone. Perking time goes by quickly and I rather enjoy hearing the song it plays while giving me a good cup of coffee in the end. The pot itself is lightweight and I'm hoping it holds up over time but so far so good (see photo below). My only concern was when it arrived the box was torn apart with pieces exposed and I wondered if it was a return. It wasn't in a protective container but showed up at my door in the product box. I don't know if the boxes condition was caused by the shipper (3rd party vendor) or the delivery service (FedEx) so can't say where the fault lies. Just FYI, I'm sharing a photo of the box as I received it. However, to end on a positive I love my coffee multiple times daily and the Presto Percolator is working great for me. I'd recommend this brand and this model for anyone looking for an easy to use, affordable coffee maker.

Excellent!

OneNerdyMomma May 1, 2016

I love love love this percolator! Before I was using Keurig and loved it too but this percolator makes much better tasting coffee. Tip: Let it sit for a minute after the light comes on before pouring the first cup. The more it sits the stronger it'll be. I haven't ground my own coffee yet, using pre-ground Starbucks and Folgers so far.

IMPRESSED

anonymous May 29, 2026

I am so impressed with this coffeemaker. There is no plastic that touches the water. Very hard to find things that do not contaminant your food with plastic. The coffee tastes great, easy to clean. One down side is it doesn't shut off if left on. Very impressed, I love it!

With reports of black plastic erosion and consumption from many coffee pots, I believe this is a healthier option for preparing coffee. It takes longer than carafe units, but the improved taste and steady hotness are definite pluses. I would recommend this product!

High Maintenance but Worth it!

Mary May 30, 2026

I bought this because I don't want to be slurping plastic in my coffee every day and I'm too cheap to buy an expresso machine and too lazy to use a French press (yes, I'm that lazy). I LOVE this little silver 1950s looking coffee maker. It is divine and the coffee is outstanding. You can tell a difference, especially if you use good coffee. The only caveat is that it is high maintenance with respect to putting the coffee grounds in and seating the basket. Also, use a strainer when cleaning it and dumping out the grounds or you'll get those grounds down your drain (not good). Still worth it and it is very nice quality. I feel fancy using it even though I slurp my coffee sometimes.

All stainless steel-no plastic touches the coffee. This coffee pot takes up less space on my counter. It's easy to clean as well. And, it makes great coffee! It is a little loud as it perks but I like that-nostalgic?

Sparky

Gordon May 3, 2026

If you like fresh perked coffee in about 10 mins. look no further. Internal parts are all stainless, no PLASTIC'S here. Been using this type for over 10 yrs. have to buy a new one about every 3 to 4 yrs. the manufacture makes the cord short, so prone to breaking inside, causing short, sparks, and flames. Not recommended to leave the kitchen, why brewing, or plug into a GFI protected breaker.

sadly disappointed

anonymous May 10, 2026

I really was looking for to this percolater coffee pot. I tried to find the best reviewed one. When I received this one I was really happy. I noticed the stem that goes through the coffee basket didn't stick up over the lid of the coffee basket. when I made a pot of coffee the stem apparently pushed the lid off from the basket and coffee grounds were all over inside the percolater. I had to strain the coffee so I didn't drink alot or grounds. I was very disappointed. The stem needs to be above the coffee basket lid a little bit. so I'm going to return it. otherwise it's a good percolater. I liked everything about it except for the short stem.

Pleasantly surprised

M. Andre October 5, 2025

I switched to the Presto percolator because I wanted to stop having microplastics in my coffee and this percolator is 100% stainless steel. It's easy to use and the fact that my coffee tastes so much better was a pleasant surprise.

Aluminum part

Yoel January 3, 2025

I am not happy that this percolator has an aluminum part as a heating element that would leach aluminum into my coffee. The company is not totally transparent with consumers, falsaly claiming that that is stainless steel.
