Presto 23 Quart Pressure Canner with Induction Compatible Base

My wife has been using a pressure cooker for over 50 years and was saddened to learn that her pressure cooker was not compatible with our new induction stove. She has used it for the first time this week and has only one disappointment, that it did not come with time and pressure instructions (I am correcting this by purchasing such a book for an anniversary gift to be delivered this coming week). She was extremely pleased with the ease of use and it worked perfectly with our new store. She is very happy to recommend this to novice and sage users alike.

Recently I bought another brand of pressure cooker/canner used it once and sent it back. Then I found the Presto at WalMart which was $60 cheaper than the other brand and this one works GREAT!!! I do a lot of canning in the fall and this year, with this pressure canner/cooker it has cut my canning time in half!! It is so easy to use and I love that it comes with the actual pressure dial! That really helps to know EXACTLY what the pressure is. I would recommend it to anyone who cans their own veggies in the fall. LOVE IT!!

Works fine. I've been afraid of pressure cookers, but time has improved these cookers to where they're easy to use. They make the jiggling noises after 15 lb's. of pressure; I maintained pressure at 11 lb's. for green beans by adjusting the temp on the burner. Holds 7 quarts or 10 pints.

Anyone looking for a great pressure cooker would love this product! It is the standard type (non-electric) but works great all the same, and at the affordable price, you can't beat it! I got it half off of the original price of $84.99 (or around there) and only paid something like $40.00 for it. For the size, durability, and price, I would suggest this product to anyone looking for a pressure cooker, whether it's your first, or fifth, this model will fit any need. Also, I had it shipped right to my doorstep and received it in a matter of days (like 3 to exact). Perfectly packaged, easy to read/follow instructions.

Bought this for my Mother-in-law. First ordered the 23 qt. online and it was too big for her. Exchanged it at the store with no problems and ordered the 16 qt. online. Came packaged securely and earlier than expected. Just as big around as the 23qt but not as tall. Holds 7 qt. jars.

Love this canner. The last time I pressure canned was probably 35yrs ago and my sister and I canned veggie soup with an older heavy pressure canner my grandmother gave me. I think it would have still done the job, but the pressure gauge glass was cracked when I used it last, and the seal was the same seal that had been in it for yrs. anyway I just didn't want to mess or really trusted it, so decided to get a new one. This canner is awesome!!!! canned deer meat and it did a perfect job. It is much lighter than the old one, easy to adjust pressure, no leaks around seals, and it didn't make any noise. so quite. Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!

This is my first try at canning anything, and the very specific instructions that came with this canner are easy to understand. It is also very easy to use. I really love it and have used it to can all of the produce from our garden: potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, and peppers, and the results have been great! I would recommend it to anyone. But be aware that the aluminum can leave black marks so don't use it on a flat range top, and place it on a hot pad or towel if you put it on your countertop.

I received my order in an un-protected carton, there was NO packaging on the display box. Since it's a heavy metal cooker, I didn't consider any damage, but when I opened it many days after delivery and was preparing to use it, I discovered the pressure gauge on the top was bent over. Upon testing the cooker, I discovered the gauge was damaged and sticks at 5# and no more. I took the gauge apart and was able to repair it to what I consider "working condition" I would recommend some packing when shipping this item. If Wal Mart or Presto would like to send me a new replacement pressure gauge, I would appreciate it, if not, I will simply have to continue using the cooker with a questionable gauge.

I've been canning all my life and was using a canner given to me by my mother-in-law whose mother-in-law had given it to her. I bought this canner because I thought the old one had a faulty gasket. In reading the very complete instruction manual with my new canner I found the problem with my old one and was able to use it again. Now I can do my canning twice as quickly but in using the two canners side by side I prefer the new one because of the pressure gauge as opposed to the old one which uses a weight that jiggles when it gets to the (approximate) pressure, also this new Presto pot is much easier to close and open. I've already preserved 70 quarts of produce in this new canner and am very glad I made the purchase!

My husband has a HUGE garden. We love to can and freeze as much as we are able. However, we only have a regulare size pressure cooker, so we could only can pints. My husband has been wanting a larger pressure cooker for years. For our anniversary this year, I surprised him with this Presto 16 quart canner. He was so excited, that he had to make a batch of chili so that he could can it in quarts. He just loves this canner. I will recommend it to all of my canning friends.
