Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving 38th Edition, Recipe Book

I have been collecting the ball book ever since I learned how to scan from my mother when I was 11 or 12 and I think the ball book is the absolute best book for canning so I have compared it to other books, but I still go back to the ball book and this one is better than ever that's .

Terrific book, excellent value. I get the Ball Blue Book only about every 10 yrs or so, so this 38th edition published in 2024 is the first one I have that includes the USDA's revised 2015 guidelines for canning. And it has a lot of added recipes for me to try! I really like the 'You Choose' and 'Our Tip' features of the recipes that suggest alternatives. Also keep in mind that this is a book about Preserving the harvest, so it's not just canning. It covers freezing and dehydrating as well. Ball never disappoints.

Ball always has great info for canning. This is a must-have for beginner canners. Explains things well and has tried and tested recipes. The quality of the book is nice and should withstand being in a messy kitchen while canning.

Im very new to canning. i used to watch my mamaw but.... The recipes are pretty good for me. I have been able to call someone for additional questions but i love the book.

When I got to the pickup spot I called the number. After several rings there was a recording saying no one could take my call and to leave a message- but the mail box was full. 4 more calls and the same thing. So I hid to go inside only for them to tell me I had to pickup outside and call the number!

The books arrived as advertised. I was happy to locate these books to give as Christmas gifts. Merry Christmas to all!

Well written. Wish it was a little more durable and had places for my own notes on things within it.

There are a lot of recipes in here that I can't wait to try. It is not just canning it's also dehydrating and freezing recipes and guides. When I first got the book I thought it wasn't very thick. But there's a lot packed in here. I prefer spiral bound, but I didn't see that option. It is worth getting in my opinion.

Recipe book was thrown in a box with the canning pot and being paper back had creases and bet cover and pages. Still a good book just would've liked it new looking.

Was disappointed in this update. Was thinking it would have new canning recipes like meals in a jar but the “new recipes” are simply how to use what you canned from the old books.. Looking for meals in a jar kinda thing.
