This Predator movie is number three in the Predator franchise imo, good storyline, and the audio and video quality is top notch as well. It looks and sounds amazing in 4K and Dolby Atmos but I guess that'll depend on your TV and audio setup but as for me, it's just like being at the movies with this disc. I actually streamed this movie before I purchased it and the picture quality wasn't even close to being comparable... the disc is 100 times better in both audio and video quality. BTW, luckily, my disc got to me undamaged, something that I can't always say when I purchase 4K blu ray discs from that place that starts with an A and ends with a N because it's better packaged; no room for a lot of movement during shipping.
And the story lives on, in both sequels and prequels now! PREY is better than Predator Badlands, and that IS a good film too!
fast shipping and great seller...thank you walmart
Great film and it arrived in great condition.
This was a prequel take on the Predator series. It is based in the early times when indigenous peoples ruled the forests. Good action and visuals with a tough “woman” in charge.
Awesome movie
very interesting movie
Review form letterboxd: My favorite Pixar movie is Finding Nemo, a title earned having been one of the cinematic totems of my small clan that my daughter watched on repeat with endless wonder. When a person watches a film dozens of times, it will lead them one of two ways. One way madness lies. The other way lies reverence. While Elmo and Caillou collaborated to end me, Nemo gave me life. Not only did the subject matter of Nemo land hard – we spent most of the first months of my daughter's life in the hospital following a major surgery – but each rewatch demonstrated that Finding Nemo may be one of the most elegantly plotted movies I've ever seen. It spins Chekov's Gun like Doc Holliday at his peak. The principle of Chekov's gun posits that a gun introduced in Act 1 must be fired by Act 3's conclusion. Finding Nemo doesn't have Chekov's Gun as much as it has Chekov's Arsenal. The number of moments big and small introduced in Act 1 that have relevance and payoff throughout the film. I'd regale you with the list, but I should probably digress to the movie I'm actually reviewing: Prey. Prey pulls off the same elegant construction that made Finding Nemo such a wonder. It lays out a stash of weaponry (literal and Chekovian) that manifests in a thrilling and rewarding climax that puts most modern action films to shame. Set at the cusp of Europe's genocidal colonization of the Americas, the newest titular hunter is dropped near the tribal lands of some Camanchee, of which Amber Midthunder's Naru is a part. A young woman stuck with her gender's duties of harvesting and medicine, Naru craves the hunt. She has a gift for it too. Midthunder is an absolute force in the role with a sturdy but dexterous physicality and lively eyes that project how she analyzes her environment for information others seem to miss. It's an awesome female action performance that deserves to be in the conversation with the greats. The times being what they are, Naru is dismissed and belittled by the male hunters, even as it takes double-teaming and trickery to keep her from pummeling one of the mouthier Camanchees. Her brother loves her and supports her, but not so much that he completely overcomes the staid patriarchy of the tribe. All of these dynamics come into play with the new Predator. Director Dan Trachtenberg, as he did with the animated Predator: Killer of Killers, has designed an antagonist that reinforces the themes of the film and echoes the spirit of the protagonist. Its mask appears to be made of bone, not the metal of previous films. It uses bolts and nets instead of the blaster of the original. It still outmatches the humans with its technology (no human arrow is going to follow a laser pointer), but I loved the imprecise rhyming of the two forces. It's also the first time a Predator demonstrates something of an ethical code. It will kill what it perceives as a threat, but will otherwise show restraint. It will not kill a creature caught in a trap actual
Would've been nice to have a digital copy. The 4K Blu-ray had a spec dust or a smudge causing it to skip n it was remedied by a good wiping Had me scared as the Blu-ray player is brand new
My one-star review is for the 4K disc, and not for the movie. The movie is absolutely fantastic, it's one of the best of the series, but the 4K disc constantly freezes especially in the first 15 minutes. Skipping chapters gives me a blank/black screen. The 4K disc is defective and sadly, I'm not able to return it for a new one since the return period has come and gone. I feel ripped off.
