Definitely recommend to avoid taping lines
Works well for paint challenged individuals
Pros: * Nice, deep nap * The Linzer Pro Edge Paint Tool that the refill attaches to is made to flex so you can do ceiling work using a pole * It's made of a quality, semi-rigid plastic * The corners are rounded, so there are no sharp edges Cons: * There is only one major con—it is made specifically for the Linzer Pro Edge Paint Tool and can't be used with the standard edging tool that we all already own. If they were willing to buy the pro tool, I would definitely recommend this to a friend because it has the capacity to make ceiling work so much easier.
These fit perfectly on my existing edger and do a pretty good job at creating a straight line. However, it really depends on how steady your hand is. If you don't have a steady hand it's not going to create a perfect line, you'll still have small areas of imperfect lines. In life using this for doing walls after my ceiling has dried. My husband and I have used the device in 2 homes and it does work better than taping and using a brush, especially because it's faster.
I use these for painting to maintain the perfect edge, especially around the ceilings. The refill paint pads snap right in to the handle, and release just as easily. I like to rinse mine and use reuse them at least once. This time, I didn't use the refill pads for painting. I used them to clean my utility bathroom ceiling. There was a bit of mildew beginning to form on the ceiling near the shower. I used a step stool, a cleaner with bleach and my Linzer pro edge tool and refill pad to swipe it away. Good thing about it is that I cleaned the pad off after and once it dries, I'm planning to reuse it for similar jobs or even painting.
Inserting the handle into these disposable brush pads was easy, prepped the area for painting and started. The pads are flimsy but usable. It takes some experience to keep a good smooth stroke. I have used hard plastic backed pads before with ease. These take some effort but will do the job and won't require cleaning. If I was using a thicker paint I would prefer to use the hard backed pads. Thin to medium thin paints would be fine with these disposable pads. I used 2 pads, 1 started splitting across the handle insertion area after an hour of painting. Great for disposable quick or short lived painting. Not as controllable as hard backed pads. I would recommend these for smaller jobs, thin paints, smooth surfaces, and paints that are difficult to remove from reusable products.
Very good quality replacement pads, I was able to paint the edge’s correctly and there are no less. This pads did not drip that much and allowed me to complete the edging in first go. I did not have to spend time taping on and then using the caulking.
lt was of good quality, just didn't fit my applicator handle.
The Linzer Pro Edge Edger Tool Refill (2 pack) is a fair price. The pads are cheap enough to use and discard. I found that the Edger Tool had to be kept totally vertical to the wall or it left unwanted paint trails on the other wall surface. I had difficulty keeping the Linzer Pro Edge Edger Tool vertical, so I returned to using a trim brush. I gave 3 stars because someone else may have better skill using the Linzer Pro Edge Edger Tool than I.
"I forgot to add these items to my order in initially and wished that I could have added them to an order sent within minutes but was instead required to enlist a separate order meaning that I had to assemble another $35 in merchandise to avert extra shipping charges. It is my preference to put as much into an order as I reasonably can and then execute the order while enabling VPN, then ""wiping"" my computer immediately thereafter. It is the minimum requirement for geeks. So I shop other merchants more because of Walmart's restrictions. The mandatory login for general shopping is going to be a deal breaker for me. It means that I will look to Walmart as a last resort for shopping only. It is like someone following you around in a store."
