Promar Weighted Crab Snare Trap

Item arrived in record time. Described perfectly and worked well.

These are great for crabbing, lighter weight than other brands. (Which is a good thing) Seems to be very durable.

I just paid $20 a piece for these snares at a tackle shop and these are basically the same thing with the lead weight as part of the bottom for about $7 each.

No other business had the product at this price!

Bought them to try them out. Very surprised, how well they worked. Yes recomended.

What I do is hot glue the base of the loops in place. Make sure the loops are positioned slightly upwards. After gluing them in place, I slide the loops over a wine bottle and then run it under hot water amd then under cold water. It keeps the loops open.

Cheap light weight trap with added weight to keep everything down. I put a small bone in chicken thigh 4 oz and it was pretty packed. Would be better to stuff in a squid or some bait fish.

The bait cage is good but the snares on it is very bad. The line they use is flimsy and hangs freely and doesn't hold its shape well, but for the price is not bad. If You want you can replace the loops yourself with better lines and save you some money on buying the more expensive snares that are out there.

I have not caught anything with this crab snare. The loops don't stay in place and no crab ever gets snared on this thing. Price is also not cheap for a small metal cage with 6 flimsy loops. Would not recommend to others.

Nice looking crab snares. However, the quality of the cage %26 strings are lack luster. The material of the cage is very thin. The strings are all tangle and do NOT spring back (closing the loop). Also, the rubber band hold the cage door is very thin %26 cover by fabric, which will not last long in salt water. Will need to modify and replace strings %26 rubber band. Not Promar quality. You get what you pay for!
