Overall:
For under $30 I needed a cheap solution that would at least play CDs for a little while. - It's sort of does that at least well enough that I can tolerate it for a few months - would probably have given it 2 1/2 stars if I could, but three is too many
Pros:
the remote mostly works (and has a number pad so that might be helpful if you can get a usb or tf running right, but unless you know which number in the hundreds, you need what difference does it make that you can do numbers into the several hundred range?)
There's a button to turn off the power light
Cons:
No way to shuffle??? - 40 years of CDs and not once have I ever come across this
Opening to get the CDs out is ridiculous - definitely spend some time pretending you're going to be using it before you actually mount it because you will regret it if you mount it wrong, and because of the way, the front opens at such a small angle, chances are the angle will be wrong and awkward
Sound isn't terrible, but not great either, when turned up it tends to sort of pop notes at weird spots
Display is only ever going to give you numbers based on its own imaginary system for anything digital (usb or tf/microsd) I have gone into files and literally picked them apart, and I still cannot figure out why it chooses the order it does or fix it to play anything in any kind of order I want it to.
you're gonna think it's alphabetical order by the name of the song, but it's not
This machine would be super helpful. If all you had were CDs wanted to play in the right order and digital music you didn't care what order it played in, but for somebody who would like to be able to shuffle a CD once in a while or organize a playlist, you don't get that choice.
Remote has individual buttons for almost every setting except for TF/micro card, for that you have to go through the modes… But there's a button for every other setting so why not just have that button be the one for the card? It doesn't make any sense.
Also, TF slot is extremely fidgety and getting the card in is delicate work. (Also my card slot is backwards so the bard faces the wall - which doesn't really matter when it's in because it's flush against the side but when you're putting it in, you should never be looking at the read side)
Also, it only plays MP3's for digital music. You can take that statement seriously it really will not play any other digital files. (this is not really a complaint like it did just say MP3s… I just didn't take it as an all inclusive list, silly me)
