PROS: These are relatively well made and are incredibly effective. I have found that 1/16th teaspoon of catfood or tuna in the trap water is astonishingly more effective than buying the powder 'fly attractor'. I have 6 of these fly traps and one can of cat food lasts me 3 months, in the freezer. CONS: Emptying and rinsing these traps, once full, is the stuff that nightmares are made of... IF... you are squeamish about thousands of dead, horrifically smelling insects. Either way, YOU SHOULD USE rubber gloves and a mouth covering or a mask when disposing of the dead flies, the water, and then rinsing out the trap. DO NOT EMPTY and rinse these in your home! OUTSIDE, away from people and pets is my suggestion. For me, the savings are well worth the emptying/rinsing routine!
I have used similar traps from other brands before and they worked well. This was available recently so I tried it to hang in the tree near the spot I feed feral cats because the flies were unbelievable. OMG!!!!!! This product is AMAZING!!!!! the container is literally half full!!!!! I have ordered more. This product is definitely more effective than those used in the past and I was pleased with them. AGAIN, the results and effectiveness is almost shocking. YAY!!! What I really appreciate though is that it seems extremely targeted and does not seem to attact any other incects, because as a permaculturist wanting to preserve beneficial insects and pollinators, this does NOT ATTRACT ANYTHING BUT FLIES, which is very important to me (THANK YOU)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great value for a fly trap. Spring is here and so are the bugs. The way it is designed and packaged it is great for collecting a ton of flys. Scent isn't that bad and leaving it on the front porch has been the best place for our house.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an efficient and simple way to get rid of flies. All that is needed is to add water and put it in the right place and let it work. It's absolutely worth giving a try.
This works really well. Price is comperable tp pthere brands
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find this product to be highly effective and in a format I enjoy. I get drain flies in my bathroom sometimes and need a way to get rid of them. I'm short, so mounting fly strips is a pain, and they always end up catching my hair at some point. It's also pretty gross having hanging strips of dead bugs and glue hanging around. This is a more sanitary product that stays out of my way and keeps everything contained in a jar. It's also reusable, so the only thing you'll ever have to purchase again is the bait powder and even that has multiple uses. I just put this jar out when I need it and the flies are gone again in a couple days.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this product for a little over 2 weeks. I had it in my house by the sliding glass door. After about a couple weeks I noticed a very foul smell in my house. I finally figured out it was this fly trap. It really smells bad. I do not recommend leaving it in the house. I didn't attract or kill any of the 2 flies I had in my house. I put it outside on the lanai. The next day there were about 4 flies and a few other small bugs in the trap. This trap is definitely better outside than inside. I'll keep it on the lanai to kill the flies before they come in the house.
It was pretty easy to put together. It does attract a bunch of flies. Make sure you put it far away from your house because it really stinks and flies and not coming in my house whenever I had it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this out because I had a couple flies in the house and wanted to see if it works. I put it in the room with the flies and shut the door. The flies didn't die in the bottle but were dead on the floor the next morning. I'm not really sure if the product is what made them die. Using the bottle is easy but the bait smells bad and you have to buy more bait for it to be reusable so that's a drawback.
Flying insects can easily enter %26 exit as they please!
