I've been looking for a knife for a long time that is truly comfortable to use and works perfectly with both fish and meat.
I just received mine, knife did not fit well with the plastic sleeve inside. I took 30 seconds to cut the sleeve out and the knife fits great. now very satisfied. the plastic sleeve is held in by the top rivet of the sheath, cut that with a pair of scissors and it will work great.
can't hardly go wrong with a Rapala Fillet Knife i have had a wooden handle one for many many years this one seems a bit more heave duty then my old one so far it has done fine great little sharpener too
great filet knife at a reasonable price. I have had several of these over the years and like the soft grip which allows for non-slip handling when in use. holds its edge well and comes with a sharpener.
I have 3 other fillet knives at home but I am fishing in Florida and need a fillet knife. Right out of the package, I cleaned a big pompano and a number of spotted sea trout. The knife is very sharp going through rib bones with no problem. We had put the fish on ice so they were frozen too. No problem there either. Living on Lake of the Ozarks, we clean fish several times a week with my other three knives. This is the best one right out of the package. And the handle is very comfortable. I would rather have a plastic sheath for cleaning purposes than the leather sheath it comes with. But for the price, this is the best fillet knife I own.
This quality fillet knife by Rapala is just what I wanted. Allows for a real firm comfortable grip. Hand ground and super sharp. Not too flimsy. Nice sheath for it too. Can handle some pretty big salmon and trout no problem. I recommend.
great for small fish . It needs to be sharpened and not by the included sharpener . could be more flexible and the handle is not securely attached .
This knife looks same as that Finnish knife made by Marttini, but it is not branded as such, and is made in china. I dont like that there is space between bolster and blade, for dirt to accumulate, they made it to look like its steel. Otherwise blade is same as original knife.
I have always used this brand because of the flexibility. But this is the first time I bought one with a soft handle and I didn't know how much better it was than the wooden handle .
The item was not delivered. The door in the photo is not mine.
