I figured it was worth trying for the price. I am glad that I did. These lights work wonderful. They shine bright and are very durable. Furthermore, you only need to replace a battery to keep it running long and strong. I highly recommend these, especially if you are a healthcare worker.
I had been looking for a good, small LED penlight for some time but had a problem or problems with each one I tried. That is, until I ran into the Rayovac BRSLEDPEN-BA. This penlight is really excellent with a really good design, great white light output and good battery life. As to the design, I will point out that the threads for disassembly (to change the battery), are very large, making it easy to reassemble without cross threading. On every other light I tried out, the threads were very small which is common. However cross threading when reassembling is very likely unless it is done in good light and very very carefully. Once cross threaded, the plastic can't be fixed and the assembly is weakened. If this is done a couple of times, the light might as well be pitched out as it can't be fixed. As to the light output, it is quite good for 3 lumen specs and the beam is round, with a clearly defined boundary. I have gotten useful light with this little penlight outdoors at night; it won't blast the darkness away like the bigger and heavier models, but will provide enough light for walking safely, and seeing much more than could be seen without the light. Finally, it is well made and should last a long time with reasonable care. Many lights use a rear clicking switch for on/off, but all of the ones I've used fail or become unreliable in time, except this one which has a strong click and requires a definite push to activate it; you know for sure it is operating correctly and can't come on accidentally when packed. A really nice touch is the rubberized "grip" just below the bottom of the pocket clip which will aid in keeping the light in your wet or greasy hand. I have used mine extensively with no problems or failures. Highly recommended.
Easy to use. Just like an ink pen. Bright light. Perfect to keep in wife's purse or in her pocket at work as a nurse. Not bulky and easy to hold in your hand. Perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I Have Worked In The Health Field For 28 Years And Often Need To Use A Penn Light. This Is By FaR The Brightest And Longest Lasting Pen Light I Have Ever Used. I Bought 5 Because I Do Tend To Misplace Them. Dana Beyers Nurse Practitioner
Slim %26 easy to pack. I was looking for a flashlight to use at night that wasn't very bright so it wouldn't wake others' or so the light hurt my eyes when I get up to go to the bathroom. This throws a narrow beam %26 a small white spot on the floor so it's Ok even though it's a bit brighter than I was expecting only a 2 lumen flashlight to be.
Absolutely love this! Easily fits in the side of my purse for quick use. It is a very bright light. Looking to buy another one.
I have used these pen lights for a long time and they are terrific. They are small, using 1 AAA battery, but the are bright and the battery lasts quite a while. Recommend.
This light seems study and well made, the light is bright. After reviewing pen lights for nursing I decided on this one. I haven't got to actually use it for nursing yet since school hasn't started. I will put a later post with more information.
Nice little flashlight if you can keep from loosing it.. I think I've bought around 5 of these things and keep loosing them, but there cheap enough so it doesn't bother you too much.
I purchased 15 of these light as gifts for my students in a high school automotive program. For the price these lights are ok.. The only problem i have noticed with a few is the switch to not work properly. Thus running down the battery in your pocket.
