Sweet and fresh

californianinflorida March 16, 2017

Love this candy, but local stores only carry the disgusting "Twizzler" copycat brand. This is the REAL stuff, from your cherry-flavored childhood, and the price is incredible here. Look around — no one else comes close.

Highly superior to Twizzlers

Jim October 28, 2020

These have a more traditional red licorice flavor, similar to Super Ropes. Twizzlers taste like wax. Sometimes you get a bag of Red Vines where the vines are harder than they should be, but they are still better. A soft bag is fantastic.

the best tasting licorice , it is soft and flavorful you do need to keep it closed up or air free it will not turn hard as a rock like the other brand

My Inner Child's Candy Dream

Anonymous December 2, 2020

It's funny, I'm a 66 year old man who changes into a 12 year old boy on his bicycle whenever I tear into a bag of Red Vines. The simplicity, perfection, and nostalgia of the moment brought on by being taken back through my memories to another time by a confectionary treat is appreciated. Thank you.

My Sin

Anonymous March 10, 2021

Unfortunately, when I purchase these Red Vines, I consume them so fast (1-2 days at the max) that I regret my greediness because I am still craving them and I am NOT pregnant!

Too chewy

Annoyed March 1, 2017

Can't complain about the buying or pick up experience, but the red vines themselves had a pretty darn stale texture. We've purchased the tub before, which were awesome and tender, but not these. They all were well packaged, no tears or damage, and the expiration date was well in the future. So, go for the tub

Just not the same...

JMID August 15, 2025

I'm 52 and a lifetime candy lover. Red Vines and Black Vines have always been my favorite licorice candies my go to. Especially the Jumbo Vines and Family Blend varieties (which I haven't been able to find for years now). This last year or so I've noticed significant changes, and certainly not for the better. The flavors are mostly the same. However the size and texture has completely changed. They are no longer soft, chewy, and melt in your mouth. They're much too firm now and the consistency is much different. As is evident from all of the crumbs and shards within the bags now. They've gone from chewy to rubbery and fall apart. It's almost as if they're trying to be more like Twizzlers, which I despise. Also the Original Red Vines are now about half of the diameter and thickness as they were which makes them even worse. The Jumbo vines have certainly shrunk as well. I'm sorry to say but after being a 40+ year customer I will no longer be purchasing these. How a company can change a candy after literally half a century and expect to pass it off as the same and "original" is beyond me. Truly sad.

Red vines

Another package opened. They were dried out from bag being opened. They were so dried out this happened long before shipping. Old or damaged products is happening to often. Very unhappy with food items.

Very bad taste & texture. Left a bad taste in mouth. Had wife try them and she felt the same way. We threw the rest away.
