Reese Towpower Car Top Rainproof Bag

I have not had an opportunity to use the car top storage bag, however, we were very impressed with the quality. It has a heavy duty zipper that goes down two sides, with a vinyl flap that covers the zipper, to further insure no water gets in. The vinyl is very heavy duty. The bag is large and I'm sure it will hold much of our stuff. I am very pleased with the purchase and look forward to using it soon.

I was able to fit a large amount of items into the carrier. It fit perfectly between the roof racks of my Xterra and the straps provided were all I needed. I traveled from Florida to California, through rain, wind, and intense heat, and everything inside stayed dry. I was pleasantly surprised and glad I got it!

Read all the reviews before buying and took the advice of several...as long as the pack is full and the top is flush (tight/snug fit) there are no problems....what a great trip we had without any worries and more space for the kids with this packed on top....endured severe wind & rain....everything was dry and secure....best investment ever for a 8 - 10 hour road trip....

Love this! We used it on a trip from Missouri to Maryland. Rain, snow everything came down and nothing got wet. It held 1 very large , I medium, and 1 small. I bought a mat to go under it which was great! Without the mat air gets under and it is loud. It cinched down well and then we tied the remaining straps so they would not flap and make noise. It unzips a little less than halfway, which made it harder for me to get the giant suitcase in, but with 2 of us with the doors opend standing in either side of the SUV we got it done. I would purchase this again. Heavy Duty and it comes in a small bag for storage. Wonderful Price! We strapped it to the side bars on top of the Explorer. We didn't purchase a cross bar in front and it held fine. Going to buy my son one too!

900 mile trip with some rain, no leaks and everything stayed dry and secure. Very happy with this product

Very roomy. We were able to put 4 airline sized carry-on suitcases and my husbands large duffle bag into the carrier with room to stuff a few small items for our trip to the shore. With a family of six this was important as there really isn't space in the vehicle. We then used it to carry 3-40 packs of water, 6 cases of soda, and all the plates, cups, bowls and utensils to our family reunion. More than served its purpose. In addition, we did have rain on both trips and had no issue of wet luggage. The only reason I did not give it a perfect rating is because one of the plastic feeds on one of the straps broke when attaching it on the day of the reunion. Fortunately we always carry Ratchet straps which, perhaps, should have come with it anyway. Overall we are very satisfied to date with our few uses, and I'm certainly hopeful it stands the test of time for future uses.

Heavy duty but hard to zip. Wished straps had a 'lock'or catxh to keep it from slipping looser. Did well over long hours but was slightly looser in wind.

I fit 2 big suitcases and some bags of bedding in this bag. I used it on a subaru forester 2012 that only had side rails and no crossbars. Since the suitcases were heavy and just fit there was no wiggle room and it was wedged well on top of car. I feared however that it could go forward or backward without crossbars, but it did not. The straps held well for the 2 hour trip in the rain and nothing was wet. It's a little awkward to get your stuff into when it's on top of the car and do the straps. You need another person or two, but it's not complicated.

This cargo topper is only OK. We took it on our trip from Minnesota to Orlando ( 1500 miles). I checked the straps at every stop we made. the straps held pretty good I had to tighten them only a little bit. We didn't hit much rain so I cant verify how water tight it is. We did not use it on our return trip, because the wind ripped the fabric up. It may need to be stuffed to capacity or the top needs a redesign to be able to pull the top of the bag tight so it doesn't whip in the wind. For $30 not to bad of a product but I would only recommend it for a one time use. I also recomend making sure to find a way of getting the top tight so there are no loose spots that may rip in the wind. good luck.

I bought this for a trip from Texas to Orlando. We ran into some light - moderate rain the first day and the luggage stayed dry. When we arrived in Orlando the carrier was totally shredded. We had to purchase a hard carrier and cross bars so we could take our luggage home.
