Reliance Aqua-Pak Water Container

This is sturdy and well designed. Using it will never be super easy because water is heavy but the container is pretty well balanced which helps a lot.

These carboys work well for camping, and due to their 2.5 gallon size they are easier to lug around than 5-6-7 Gallon jugs. They weigh a lot less when full than bigger jugs. The smaller size makes it easy to monitor your water usage if you have a couple or more of these, and if for some reason you have a spill or leak, you have not lost it all. They can leak if they fall on their side . If you can't keep your water jugs right side up, don't buy these. The vent plug can leak if the jug falls over. These are not light blue as stated in the product information. They are now dark blue, as Reliance has made them for quite a while now. It makes it harder to visually check the water level, but that's just the way it is. I have several going back 20 years and have never had one fail. If you throw things around and abuse them, perhaps they will fail.

The container itself is nice as is the Pour spout and screw on cap. However, the air vent plug does not stay in, is not a screw on cap, so the container leaks if on its side. Terrible design!! Had to purchase stainless steel air vent with cap and installed them. Alpha Rider Stainless Steel Can Vent Caps Kit. Now containers no longer leaks and can be stacked.

Water jugs I received are an opaque dark blue not like pictured so they don't match another Aqua-Pak jug I have. Also, water level cannot be seen through the plastic unless you use a flashlight. Cap/spigot assembly is VERY difficult to tighten so as to line up spigot vertically.
