This is the second one of these we have installed. We recently moved and wanted one in our new house. They are very easy to install. Works perfectly and they are wonderful to have. Easiest way to get generator power into your house without cords through door or windows or a transfer switch. Highly recommended.
Great product if you don't feel comfortable installing a transfer switch; that's the main reason I bought and installed this. A couple of pointers: don't use pvc glue on the conduit/housing connections, use silicon seal so it can be removed if necessary. Put a little silicon or glue on the two nuts on the back of the housing before attaching it to the wall; they have a tendency to fall off when you insert the long bolts which hold the cover on. The only "downside" to this product is the position of the L14 plug; it faces down, so you pretty much have to stand on your head to plug your generator cord in. Curious design, since all their power inlets for their traditional transfer switches have plugs which face you, instead of facing down. Because of this, it may be more weather-proof than those, just more difficult to connect to. We had an outage about a month later when Zeta blew through the Atlanta area. I used all six receptacles and the kit worked great. Long story short, I became inspired and bought and installed their 6-circuit transfer switch kit, and I've never done any wiring in a main panel before. Their installation videos are outstanding. Truthfully, if you can install this, you can install a regular transfer switch. Food for thought.
I live close to the beaches in North Carolina, ease of just pulling the generator out and plugging it into the outside and having outlets ready to go instead of cards running thru a door or window during a storm is great
Great product. Only complaint is the mfg. should anchor the two nuts at the back of the box that holds on the cover. They kept falling out when I tried to secure the cover to the box.
Does the job
Simple easy to install. Quick way to add indoor outlets dedicated to a generator. Ensures you dont have to run cords from outside to inside the house.
The product itself is worth having...100% especially if you're currently running a cord through the crack of a door or window and letting fumes into the house. This will solve that problem entirely. It's easy to install and comes with instructions. And it comes with everything you need for the installation (except plumber glue). Great if running a generator due to power outages.
This did not match up to my generator.when I ask if there was a retrofit or if I could return was told company duranax would contact me no one ever did my generator uses a 3 prong twist what I have ordered has 4 prong
Need a refund ASAP! Pain extra 75 to get it installed! Still waiting
part missing 😠
