Rockwell RK3441K 4 -1/2 in. 5.0 Amp Compact Circular Saw

I'll make this short and sweet. I'm a big fan of Rockwell tools. I like everything about the 4-1/2" circular saw. However, there is one incidental characteristic of the saw that I like the most. I'm right handed. For too many years I've looked across the body off the saw to track the cut line on what ever I was cutting. The Rockwell 4-1/2" circular saw changed all of that. Now being right handed is a benefit because the saw blade is closer to the left side of the saw. Now my view of what I am cutting is unobstructed. It's the little things in life that really count.

I love this saw! I use it for my smaller projects but it handles like my full sized circular saws. The only improvement I would recommend is to move the safety switch further up the handle, you need to depress the button with your thumb before pulling on the trigger switch underneath with your index finger and I find it a little awkward as I have to really stretch my thumb to reach the button and my hands are not small at all, if I lay my hands on a flat surface palms down and measure diagonally from the tip of my pinky to the tip of my thumb it is 10 inches long and I still have a hard time reaching the button with my thumb. Otherwise, this is a great little saw, very convenient and powerful for it's size.

Completely Awesome. In the 2 weeks that I have had it I have cut Corian countertops with it, I have cut tons of plywood and a few 2x4's but the most amazing thing is the cooktop cutout that I did in a 3/4" thick Quartz countertop. I would probably not use it for a production saw on granite but if you have a granite cut to make from time to time this will get it done. The dust collection is very good, which is one of the most important features to me because all of the work that I do is in kitchens, in lived in homes and maintaining the mess is key. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. It's awesome.

I bought this saw off the reputation of the smaller Rockwell saw I have. I have not touched my old Craftsman circular saw since I got my first Rockwell. I have been remodeling a bathroom including a new construction of a double shower. I have not needed to touch another saw since I started including the cutting of the concrete backer board. I wouldn't trade my Rockwell saws for anything.

I am a female senior citizen in age but in action much younger. I perform numerous needed tasks in my home. When a tree branch fell I would use my circular saw to cut it up big and bulky but now I can use the Rockwell small circular saw which is not too heavy and very controllable. I also repaired a fence easily. It is a great design and a long time in coming for those of us who are independent and enjoy projects and repairs

The only bad thing to say is the wood cutting blade that was supplied with the saw. I only got a couple of cuts doing laminated floor cuts. Thankfully I thought ahead and bought extra blades from Amazon. Great product with a powerful 5 amp motor.

I bought this saw to cut framing studs and do general construction work. It I very compact and light weight which allows great handling yet it cuts through material fast. My contractor has been so impressed by this little saw that he now wants one. This is definitely a go to for me. I wish there was a cordless version . I also don't like the placement of the unlock button. It can be awkward to press when doing some cuts.

Very strong motor. The start/stop button to make it run is not in a reachable place. I have to use two hands to get it to run. Not a good design. Maybe a man with large hands.

The thumb safety makes this saw nearly impossible to use. My hand barely wraps around far enough to push it. I don't think any women would be able to use this with one hand. This feature actually makes the product less safe because you can't handle it correctly. I think it would be an excellent saw if this was removed. It is very light weight and compact.
