The installation was very easy. Including connecting our universal remote. Once it was connected to the wifi I logged into our existing account and it had our apps on the home screen. It slowed down a little when I changed the resolution to Dolby Vision but thats probably more to do with our internet. It gave me no trouble figuring out the settings. Much easier than getting the streambar to cooperate on my other TV.
love the Roku ultra. connects great and setup was awesome. the new features in the ultra where surprising good. plug it into a HDMI and it will turn your tv on via the Roku remote or switch to your other inputs and it is ready when ever you need it. the channels are great and free. I got it for my dad who was paying 200 a month for direct tv. now he has more channels than he though possible and no monthly charge win win
Been using Roku for years. We have the Roku Sticks in the bedrooms, but have this model in both living rooms. This model is the best and most reliable. No overheating, no freezing. I do recommend a high quality HDMI cord for best picture.
It took me a while to kind of figure out the layout I am used to a different streaming service but once I got the hang of it I loved it
Definitely an upgrade over the original Roku Ultra - faster response time, better connectivity, even a bit better image quality on the screen. The remote is better, too. Backlighting and internal rechargeable battery. Best of all, the same fluid & useful Roku software is on this device, so I am not having to relearn a new 'ecosystem' Glad I made the purchase.
It took over the other 3 TVs in our house and now I have to try to reinstall the Firesticks on those three. My recommendation is a tenuous yes. Not really unhappy but it could be more user friendly and needs less clutter on the screens.
I ordered this online and it was very glitchy, constantly losing connection and/or pixelating the stream. Even on a wired connection it was bad. To top it off, Walmart's app said I had until today to return it, yet when I went to the store they denied it, and their AI customer service over the 800 number refused to let me speak to a live agent. The AI “agent” literally told me the app often shows incorrect return dates. It's unbelievable. Guess it's time to cancel Walmart
This"top of the line" Rocku is not as good as "any" of the past items. Rocku (company) does make mention that their products work well with "Most"TV's--maybe with most models of most TV's. I have several different makes and models of TV's. Never once has any of the Rocku units ever failed to connect with any TV. I used the word "CONNECT" in erro *** It does "connect" but thr souund is garbled. The speaker by them selves are good and work as good as any. They work on every device EXCEPT this latest and greatest (2025) . No problem with DVD platers or over the air antenns inputs
I own an earlier version of the Roku that works fine, but the ultra does not turn on with the remote. I have to unplug and plug it in every single time even though the TV turns on. Plus the ultra turns off on its own if it sits for a while. I have checked and I am on the current software version. It's very frustrating.
I've had Rokus for over a decade and watched as they declined. Back then we could load Apps outside of the store (they took that feature away). They then started collecting all our data and selling it. Next, it was Ads. Ads everywhere! Banner Ads, Side Ads, Adds on the Apps screen. Ads, Ads, Ads! The final straw are Video Ads that take over the Home screen, put right on top of all your Apps, with loud annoying Audio that you can't do anything about. Turn on the Roku or wake it from sleep and a loud Annoying Video Ad is playing that you can't skip to get to your content.
