Ronco Showtime 5500 Series Rotisserie Oven

I’ve only used it once so far, but my rotisserie chicken turned out really good—juicy on the inside with nicely browned skin. It was easy to use, and I didn’t have to keep checking or flipping anything, which I liked. Looking forward to trying more with it, but the first impression was definitely positive.

This design has been around for decades and just works. Bought this to replace an earlier version (from the 1990s) which still worked, but was looking a little beat. Hopefully this one lasts as long. First use at Thanksgiving was flawless.

I LOVE my rotisserie! I had one years ago and had to give it away because I was moving and could not take it with me. This model has the rotisserie basket, gloves and strings for tying meat. It was perfect for roasting my pork shoulder and beef for Thanksgiving. Very satisfied with my purchase!

I couldn’t wait to use this so I got a whole chicken right away. I thought I would have trouble setting it up, but it was really simple. The chicken was absolutely delicious and moist. I also liked the fact that all the attachments can be stored inside it until ready to use.

The size capacity for a chicken or turkey is the actual maximum, but it does work. The result with a bird a couple pounds over that weight was difficult but results were excellent. Since then I have done several things and all have been great with the included accessories. Consult the instructions but once you've done a few things you'll have no trouble getting excellent results. Clean up takes a while, but everything that needs cleaning come out easily. I spray the removable trays with cooking spray and things clean up very quickly after cooking.

I only wish it came with all the original accessories. And I'm not sure how the door holder will hold up thru the years. The last ronco showtime rotissere lasted over 40 years. So we shall see...

The unit is beautiful . . . BUT it does not function as it should . . . the rotisserie turns too slow and burns the chicken. Very disappointing. I hope they can come up with a newer version with a rotisserie that turns faster like they did in the past.
