First of all, I must say this is an awesome bike. We bought the 16" version for our 5 year old daughter and she loves it! Now let's look at some intrinsic details: Sizing: There is a note on the package (as well as on the instructions) that parents usually make the mistake of buying a bigger size in the anticipation that their kids would outgrow it soon. So, follow the sizing chart and always get the right one because getting a bigger one would end up in your kid disliking the bike on their first trial and eventually they will end up disliking it even when they are at the right height. Seat: The handle behind the seat is a feature that comes with 12", 14" and 16" versions but not with the 18" version. Bottle: The water bottle that comes with the bike is a big plus and our daughter was excited about it when we ordered this bike. But when it arrived, I noticed that the bottle is made of cheap plastic and I don't want my kid to drink water from it. On the plus side, we are using a good quality bottle and it fits very well in the bottle holder that the bike comes with. So, no regrets here either. Ease of riding: Though the bike looks great and is made very well, my 5 year old daughter finds it a little difficult to pedal it. Note that this is a BMX bike and has big tires which could make it a little difficult for little kids. But they will soon get used it, so this shouldn't be a major concern. Training wheels/side stand: The bike comes with both the side stand as well as the training wheels. You can install any one of these based on your kid's riding level (but of course not both). Brakes: The bike comes with the front brake with the brake handle on the left. It also has the back pedal brake for the rear tire. So, having both types of brakes is a huge plus. The brake handle is so easy to use and I was pleasantly surprised how well my kid was able to use it. We looked at many other bikes, and the brake handles were so hard to use for a kid. But this bike just nailed it!! Colors: This bike comes in different colors and we got the blue one since we all liked it. When it arrived it looked even better. My daughter who is very picky about choosing girly colors, chose blue for the first time and she loves it. So, I'm sure the other colors would look great too. Setup Instructions and Tool set: The bike comes with all the tools you would require to set it up. That's very good. It hardly took me 30 minutes to put everything together. You would just need to fit the handle bar, the pedals, the training wheels (or the side stand), the bell and the hazard lights. Then finally you would need to tighten the brake handle and of course fill air into the tires. But I felt the instructions could have been made a little better. The pictures and the steps are listed separately which makes it a little difficult to understand if you are putting together a bike for the first time. If the pictures are added to each step, I'm sure it would take just under 15 minutes. One other issue I had was, the instructions doesn't talk about the bell and the hazard lights, so I had to figure it out myself (took an extra 5 minutes). Overall this is a great bike with very good features. I would highly recommend this bike to any parent who is on the lookout for a new bike. It costs a little more when compared to other bikes but I'm sure you'll be glad you spent those extra bucks. Happy biking with your kids!!
This is upsize from 14” bike and fits very well. Excellent quality and like handbrake bell and water bottle! Very nice bike.
Very happy with purchase from Walmart. I purchased online and my Local Walmart put this bike and three others I purchased from them together without charge! What a deal and saved me so much time and hassle!
So over the bike looks great study and was easy for my husband to assemble. My concern is that looking at it now it may be to small for the one I originally bought it for and that I may have to exchange for a bigger bike for her to ride l. But I'm very happy with it and how it looks.
great bicycle. easy to assemble and ride by 5 year old.
Awesome bike great quality and my child love it easy and light weight very steady excellent choice for your boy or girl
My grandson was pleased with the appearance of the bike. Because it was shipped from a big distance away, it took a while to arrive. One like and one dislike!
Bike is of great quality. Easy to assemble. Took only 15 minutes.
Completely satisfied, with one small exception. No mudguards.
I order the bike for a 8 yr old and received a smaller version more for 5-6
