I use this tray to create little frozen herb bombs for my lentil soup or to stir into pastas, etc. Just add whatever (minced) leftover herbs you have to some olive oil or butter and freeze! Pop them out as needed or once frozen pop them into a baggie and have them at hands reach anytime.
These ice cube trays are so easy to use. Although I don't use them for ice, I do use them for meal prepping. They're perfectly designed for minced garlic, tomato paste, purees, etc. The silicone bottom makes it so easy to release once they've frozen. The sturdiness of the material handles the constant use and the dishwasher!
I purchased this Ice Tray for a couple reasons, first I liked that it was made by rubbermaid and of better quality then the classic white trays and secondly because of the size of the cubes. I plan on buying another one and recommend this to anyone looking for better quality tray.
The silicone bottom makes all the difference. I use this for freezing tomato sauce, lime juice etc that way there is no waste when I’m cooking. Anything I use to freeze it with pops right out.
I love these ice cube trays! Because my hands are weakened by arthritis, I can’t always get ice out of regular ice cube trays. Getting ice out of these is simple and easy! Thanks, Rubbermaid!
They pop out great. only issue is you have to be careful how you stack in freezer. They do not stack on top of each other you have to move them about 2 inch in and stager them or you will have half empty ice cubes and trays freeze together.
I grow my own herbs and wanted a way to save them for later use. This tray just works fantastically for me to chop the herbs, add a bit of water, freeze and store in freezer bags. Love how easy it is to remove from the tray. The size of each cube is perfect for my recipes calling for a specific herb. They push up and out from the bottom easily.
I gave this a four-star rating because you are unable to stack ice trays on top of each other. Ice trays will fall down into the other one unless you place something firm between them. The ice does pop out with ease; I like that fact. It would have been nice if a stacking tray holder came with them.
for what these cost, and being a brand name like rubbermaid, youd think these would last longer than a couple months before they start coming apart. so much for a name brand!
These were extremely hard to break out of the ice tray. Also, when you tried to fill them up, the water just spilled over onto the side and off. Whenever you put them in the freezer water just spilled everywhere. Definitely don’t recommend.
