Rubbermaid Deck Box with Seat - Large

We just installed a pool in our backyard and bought this one & the 75 gal. one. On the website the colors of the two seem to not match but when both arrived they WERE the same color. That's a plus. Very easy to put together, but one review said it keeps insects out. Wrong! It's not that tight. Very strong. I'm 6' 3" 190lbs, my wife 5' 2" 130lbs and we both sat on it fine together. The inside dimensions are just a little deceiving. The inside of the lid has a little crown in it. So when the lid is closed that makes the center of the box just a little taller that the two outside edges. About a 1/2" or so. That's the dimensions Rubbermaid uses. I found this out because we bought this box to store our lounge chairs. I measured the chairs before I bought this to see if they would fit. Accordingly to the dimensions on the site, yes they would. But when it came, if I put the folded lounge in the box to the back or the front the lid wouldn't quite close all the way. But if I put it in the center no problem. Just a little more room there as I said. For us it worked out fine. I can put 4, folded up lounge chairs in there and just tilt them a bit from the front to the back of the box and the lid closes just fine. And then I still have a bunch of room on the other side of the box for towels, pool toys or whatever. Easy to assembly. I love Rubbermaid products.

I loved how quickly this item snaps together yet is sealed tight. Definitely worth the price. Large capacity. I can fit 4 full size chair cushions and pool toys, patio umbrella. To give an idea of size i placed 2 large coolers side by side and the bin is still longer. There's so much room. Very satisfied

I have had it for a few weeks. It was super easy to put together. I was concerned about how much it would really protect my items from water since I am primarily storing my light-colored cushions in it. We had a HUGE thunderstorm with rain and 100mph winds. The lid remained secure and nothing inside was wet!

I put this together by myself. I had some difficulty tapping out the pieces on the base in order to put the sides into it. A few were out so I do not understand why they do not remove them during manufacturing. It would make it more simple to assembly. I like that it is doubled walled. I have another brand and do not like it as well as the double walled. I use it to store supplies for the pond and fish. I separate the items into different boxes. It makes find items so much easier than just tossing them into the deck box. I would have preferred the color brown, but for the price it was excellent. I could not justify paying another 50 dollars t get the color brown or wicker. I wish my others were this brand.

This storage bench is exactly what I needed to store empty planters, pots, soil, and most importantly, the heavy tools like shovel, rake, hoe, that I didn't want to hang from clips in my garage. A friend and I assembled it in about 15 minutes. It was so easy and nothing so heavy we couldn't manage.

To begin with, I read reviews on this product and thought about not buying it. But I notice the positive reviews far exceeded the negative reviews. And knowing that Rubbermaid makes quality products, I thought I will buy it. Unlike a few negative reviews. Mine went together easily and the panels all locked solidly. The lid sits perfectly and the unit as a whole should easily protect mu patio furniture cushions from inclement weather. Time will tell how good it works, but for now, I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

It snapped together and it’s a tough storage box. I especially like that I can put a lock on it. Kiddingly, I told my spouse that it’d make a cheap coffin. It holds a lot of items. I keep my blower, trimmer, shovels, extension cords, pool stuff etc. in it. It’s a great buy too!

Great size - perfect for two Adirondack chair cushions plus four seat cushions with lots of room to spare. Relatively easy to put together and seems sturdy - although I don't know that we will use it as a spare seat as advertised. My husband and I are not large folks and it seemed somewhat flimsy when we both sat on it - would be fine to set dishes/food on for deck dining, however. Like that it can take a separate lock. Finally, it has survived a couple crazy rainstorms and appears to be waterproof.

I have had another brand deck box in the past and wish I had purchased the same one once again. The Rubbermaid deck box went together easy enough, but it also comes APART easy enough. I usually need to move the deck box to clean behind it and if you push at all on the sides or front to slide it, it becomes unsecured. I don't like the way its constructed. I'm tempted to glue it with silicon adhesive. Such a shame because its a nice looking box. Wish it also had wheels on the one end. I have it under shelter but don't know how water tight it is. Wish it had better moblity characteristics Its large and spacious. Lid and box look nice. But the side pieces should connect with more secure fittings than the peg and snapdown method. Just not enough in my opinion. I kept it because I needed it asap. I moved my old one(another brand) by rolling it across the yard and, ironically, it held together. Too bad it was just too ugly to keep in view, lol. I'm still using the old one for another purpose.

I had to buy bungie cords to wrap around the body of the box because there are no hard connections between pieces, so when you open the lid the assembled panels for entire box separate and it falls completely apart. Very poor design - the engineers really blew it on this one. Note 2nd photo where pieces are moving.
