I had some vintage slot car track with light rust and decided to try this product rather than the usual fine sanding pad. Rust-Oleum worked surprisingly well to remove the oxidation without harming the plastic track. Restored electrical continuity with no scrubbing. Just spray on, brush evenly over rails with an old toothbrush, wait 10 min. rinse and dry. No problem with fumes or unpleasant odor. Before and after pics show the difference it makes.
I had a washer connection that seemed a little rusted. I sprayed on the 2- connecting areas and waited manufacture recommend times for solution to break down rusted areas and with a twist with pliers was able to break the area loose and unscrew the valve. I had really put this ole woman's muscles to work but this stuff made it easy peasy.
i have been trying to clean a very old knife with medium grit sandpaper and finally gave up. this is an amazing rust remover. it isn't a magic wand though. for years of neglect laying on a dirt floor it is a challenge. i put the rust remover on a test area, outside. it's messy. i used an old rag to rub it off. when i finished my test area. it wasn't perfect but a half hour work and i saw real shine. it would have taken many hours to get the same results from sanding . when I am finished my knife is going to shine like new. i love this rust remover
This stuff does the job if you have a little time and a little effort (and a toilet brush to dedicate for the job). I have that annoying brown rust stain in all my toilets, but in 60 minutes with three applications and light scrubs….almost all gone! The gel consistency makes it stay in place and melt away. Each light scrub made some disappear. I'm guessing doing a 10-15 minute application each month will keep the bowl shining! And the smell is very mild, wow! I'm a fan!
Purchased this to remove rust from 4 metal outdoor chairs. Using steel wool to break up the rust, I then sprayed this Rust Dissolver on using rubber gloves as it does not "spray" but shoots out of the bottle. And a little goes a long way. 15 minutes later I sprayed it off and the rust was gone.
I've been cleaning a huge Ornamental Iron driveway gate with this product. it has been working very well for me. It took off the green mold and rust off. I used a brush with it and it d I didn't take much pressure at all!
this is a great rust remover, with long time results. I used this on the top of my vehicle over 2 minutes nths ago. I haven't painted it yet and it's still working, there's no rust at all on my vehicle 100%
Do not use on guns unless you plan to reblue. .............trust me..........but, his stuff really does work. Just spray on .. let it soak ! Very strong %26 it cleans down to the bare metal.
I was given this product to try out! My friend just moved and I inherited 2 metal outdoor chairs. there was rust on them. This product is fantastic! It cleans the rust off without having to scrub! I am going to use them on my garden tools next!!! Now when I happen upon a garage sale and I see something old and rusty...I'm grabbing!!!
Got this intending to (and Been trying it to) remove rust from tools and other things. Not as good as "expected" from Rust-Oleum 😕 Followed instructions, "misted" to keep from drying, even ran "overtime" and even "debreeded" rust off before applying. YES, IT DOES DISCOLOR METALS!!! No doubt it would Really mess up chrome surfaces, even if used in short time. I got this to cleanup tools, the lug nuts/bumpers/spare tire rack/door step and misc on my Winnebago, and misc other things. Wire brushed and even "wetted" lug nuts before application (instruction "suggestions") but still left some deep/"imbedded"(?) rust. Got this to avoid using wire brush on grinder, but That got lugs SO MUCH BETTER/CLEANER/SHINIER!! Even made "remover" treated lugs to look Much Better!!! Really disappointed in Rust-Oleum with This product!! (It should read it removes extremely light or "new" rust, or "can use this in place of Brillo pads or steel wool"🤗)
