This will completely transform your old bathroom tub. 1. Spend a lot of time prepping and cleaning the tub. 2. Use 3 coats 3. Let dry for one day between each coat. 4. If you are prone to odor migraines, use a mask and a fan and open the windows.
I covered a tiled fireplace front with two coats that were applied within 6 hours of each other. The one quart size gave plenty of material to work with. The most even coverage was by roller, using a brush to cut the edges.
The product itself is great. I have used it before when working on vacant rental homes. Although I haven't used this product in 7 years, I wanted to help my friend out by redoing her tub. She was going to be on vacation for a few days so I thought it was perfect timing since the tub needs 3 days to cure. I don't know what I did wrong, but I could not get full coverage with two coats and I can tell that one spot is going to chip once she cleans it. Maybe I didn't sand it well enough. Because I have used this product before with excellent results, I'm going to chalk it up to user error. Even so, the final result is still better than what was there before. The pictures show the difference between 0 coats and 1 coat and then the difference between 1 coat and 2 coats. I also included a picture of where it was bubbling while still wet. The tub is still wet in all of the pictures so I'm not sure if it stayed that shiny once it was dry. All I did was the tub so I had a lot left over. I hated to waste it, but I think the instructions say to use it within 6 hours of being mixed.
like everything it didn't cover like it supposed to I had someone else to do it overall better than it was
Easy to apply just make sure you in a well ventilated area
a lot of work but it was pretty easy to use. it came out so much nicer than it was before.
Tried 2 other kinds and this one here was the easiest to use and while all finishs will always look not as good as the original, this one looks the best. Remeber to use the green frog tape for clean lines. Cost more but your frustation levels will be way lower.
The satin version comes out well . It gave us the matte type finish we were looking for . We were able to do three coats of on the surrounding tub tiles . I figure it could do two coats on the tile and tub normally. We've used gloss type coats on our tubs and surrounds before with great effect. The satin version dose show a bit more of a painted look. It dosnt show streaks or brush marks but due to the nature of the satin finish it dosnt give teh impression of an epoxy topcoat tat the gloss dose . Still this was fairly easy ands great improvement over the old color tile look. The color seems to be a bit lower on the k scale than what I've seen in the glossy paint . Great product .
This was a quick and easy fix for a new looking shower! I definitely recommend sanding until you can't sand anymore and find a YouTube tutorial to follow. The paint isn't even but it looks so much better than it did. GET A MASK WHEN PAINTING. I almost fainted the fumes were so bad.
Really had to clean the surface and scrape all the old paint off before you could use the new stuff. It was really backbreaking work.
