Rutland Creosote Remover, Easy-Use Granular Formula, 2lbs

item was well-protected in box.

For years, I always use the cannisters ones but they don't have them so I'm using this one again...It works well. My chimney sweep person says my flu keeps clean using this to help keep it clean.

Product arrived within a few days of ordering so I was extremely pleased I received it so fast, just in time for an arriving cold front and the beginning of winter burning. My chimney has slight creosote buildup and glazing from the previous owners so I thought I'd try this product to see if it worked cleaning the flue and fire bricks in the hearth. This 2 lb tub of granules was much cheaper and will last for months versus those single Creosote Sweeping Logs I've seen advertised on TV. To date I've only applied the granules 5 times so I can't say how long-term effective it is, but I'm excited and curious to try and believe it will do what it claims over time. The instructions say to apply a scoopful of granules to hot coals but I wish they could be a little more specific, like is it okay if flames from burning logs touches it, can it be applied at any time to hot coals or will it work best at the end of the fire, etc.

We used to drive 15 miles to a fireplace store for this same product. And pay almost twice the price. Keeps our woodstoves chimney clean

The Item was delivered quickly and easy to use with clear instructions. Just began using the product, do not really know if it works as advertised.

so far so good. it's a lot cheaper than buying the creosote logs. just started using a few weeks ago but as long as it keeps buildup down, i will start using this product exclusively. i have indoor fireplace but only burn a few times a week in winter and i do my own sweeping.

I'm not 100% certain this stuff REALLY totally works, but it does seem to reduce the amt. of Creosote that builds up in my chimney, from my wood burning stove. Not a total cure for Creosote build-up, but a help in slowing it down, %26 minimizing the amt.

Eliminates creosote buildup in chimney

This product works great. I would quit burning wood if I could not get it!

As far as I know the product works, but the lousy lid does not fit back on once it is first opened. If you can't even make a simple container that works right it seriously makes me wonder if the product itself is garbage. A simple quality control check would really be appreciated.
