I bought for my toddler since she has curly hair I had a very hard time doing her hair but not anymore! This brush doesn't hurt her when detangling her locks.
My niece is half black and half white but her hair is a little more coarse. We use so many different brushes and they seem to really hurt her head. A friend recommended the safety first ouch. Free universal Locs detangling brush. I really like this brush. It's well-made has a great handle. That is really easy to grip. The bristles are hard and strong, but they separate very easily to comb through her hair. The brush does not fall in knots of her hair and it allows you to adjust the bristles. This is a really nice brush. It works really well and I highly recommend it.
radical for the price and worked to get my baby's tangled out with detangler
This Safety 1st Universal Locks Detangling Brush is a VERY interesting invention! The whole brush, including the bristles, is made from plastic. The bristles are thicker than an ordinary brush's bristles and have rounded tips so they're not dangerous or painful. The brush is made in the idea of a landscaping rake tool. The "tines" of bristles are separated and but held together with a removable plastic bar. The bar slides up and down the "tines" of bristles. When the bar is up it squeezes the "tines" of the bristle bars closer together and that configuration is used for thin hair. When the bar is pushed all the way down the "tines" of bristles are spread apart and this configuration is used for thick hair. The sliding bar can be removed to aid in the ease of cleaning the brush. The whole design is easily washable.
Easy on my daughters hair
Gets the knots out the first time, every time. My daughter is in her teens but has very long thick hair and knots and tangles became a nightmare. This hair brush didn't look like the typical brush so I decided to give it a try. I'm so impressed with the results. Brushing her hair is not quite the chore it used to be. I wouldn't say its painless but it is definitely an effective brush for knots. I love it and so does she. I would recommend this product to anyone that is dealing with knotty hair.
This Is a really good brush. One of my kids have straight hair may be fine and it works great. My other one has curls and straight hair and it works great for him too. My other one has thick really curly hair and it works really well as well for him.
This is a great detangling brush. My hair tangles at the bottom of the strands at the back of my head. This brush goes through my hair easily then reach the tangle without yanking on my hair. I then hold my hair above the tangle and the brush gets the tangle out with one stroke without breaking the ends of my hair or pulling on my scalp. I recommend this brush. It would be excellent on a child's hair. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sliding green bracket that widens or narrows the rows of teeth on the brush has a flimsy side closure and the catch broke the third time I slid it up and down. It moves up and down smoothly but the catch broke. I have to hold my hand over the catch to keep it in place while I brush or it pops open. I prefer the rows closer together because my hair is straight, fine and thick.
I like this brush, but my kids hate it. They say it pulls too hard. I like that you can use different settings for different styles of hair. The bar on the back moves easily up and down, but like i said, my kids say it pulls harder than a wet brush (one has fine hair, one has thick hair). So far, it hasn't made hair brushing easier
Overall not that impressed. Did run thru the hair ok but the bar that you use to adjust the size did pull on her hair a couple of times. Does clean up easily. Handle is comfortable to grip and has a nice hole if your into hanging up your brushes
