Sailor Moon S: The Complete Third Season (Blu-ray)

This was a gift to my adult son so this is a review he asked to put here Japanese animation as a whole is usually pretty good. The Sailor Moon:S series animation is excellent. Storylines are very well written and easy to follow along having very realistic animation. He has been watching these Anime's since was 7 years old and as an adult he says that this animation wás ground breaking. well worth the money.

Sailor Moon S (SMS) is the 3rd and my favorite season of Sailor Moon. Even though there are 5 seasons, this season, to me, has the best writing and characters (Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and... Saturn!). It's a very dark season, too - both plot and atmosphere (Please note that there are a lot of Christian/Religious references and a same sex relationship in this season - it didn't bother me but may be unsettling for others). My old SMS dvd set looked like it was just taken off tv, with poor old image quality. This SMS Bluray version is so beautiful, and the dark scenes are so full of clarity now. The pink hues have been removed (due to aging film), which also could be upsetting to some fans. But this Bluray set is how SMS was meant to be seen - with its superior detail and color. Basically, SMS has never looked So Super! SMS Bluray set, just like the other Sailor Moon bluray sets, is $25, which is such a fantastic deal. (I remember back in the 90s paying over $20 for only 2 episodes of an anime series on VHS!). SMS is a fantastic addition to any anime collection at an amazing price. I am so very glad I bought the SMS bluray set and look forward to buying the other Sailor Moon bluray seasons as well!

Discs came with some minor smudges on them. A cleaning with a microfiber cloth made then look good as new. Finished watching whole season and no pauses or skips.

Arrived in good condition for a very reasonable price.

I you are a fan of Sailor Moon you need to purchase this. The image looks very nice and the dub is more faithful to the original dialogue. Every disc comes with a gallery that has pretty pictures. It came in neat condition.

Season 3 has always been one of my favorites of the sailor moon anime. However, this is redubbed and not the orginal DIC dubbing from the 90's.

This is a much bigger improvement over the original release with the yellow case. They used different scans!

All discs were good and you can watch both sub or dub which is really nice

My son was happy with this because we got it on sale and it's usually cost a lot more.
