We just bought these for a trip. Sure enough the airline lost our bags. Using the Smarttag2 and the app we were able to show that they had the bags and where they were (6 states away). We got the bags back, great investment!
The smart tag 2 has new features for pet owners. I had no idea when i purchased it. I had the original version and planned on getting an extra to put on my pets harness. What a surprise when it arrived and had an entire app/profile for pets!
I originally thought that I wouldn't rely on the Smarttag2 as much as I thought I did. But simply having it in my bag and luggage relieved the worry about losing my precious belongings. And with the precision tracking it makes it easy to find whatever I lose.
I received this amazing device as a gift. I didn't even know such things existed. It isn't just useful for locating keys. If you have an elderly person in your life, the tag proves useful to keep track of them in the store when shopping. You can also leave it inside your vehicle to find your car in a large parking lot if you don't have a security alarm.
I love this smart tag. I have it attached to my box cutter. I was always setting down my box cutter and misplacing it at work. I would waste about 15 mins until I have up looking for it and then ask everyone to keep any eye out for it. Now I have lost it a few times and it's great to turn on the ringer and find it so fast.
It's good but not sure if it's because we live in NYC and it can update a lot from all the people with same network. If it could get update on any network definitely 5 Star product!
I placed one on my dog and tested the range and for about an hour it only pinged once during that hour. What that means is that no one has around me has the smartthings find network thingy on, which is unfortunate. Maybe if there was an incentive for people to keep it on, the smart smartag would be more useful. Give galaxy users benefits for joining the smart find network.
I haven't used it yet but setting it up wasn't that smooth. Using the small key was a little painful
The Galaxy SmartTag2 is one of the most frustrating gadgets I've ever owned. Not only does it constantly lose connection and show completely inaccurate locations, but even something as simple as changing the battery forces you to do a full factory reset. That means re-pairing it from scratch every single time — which is ridiculous for a “smart” tracker in 2025. The battery life is mediocre, the app is clunky, and the whole experience feels like a half-finished product. Save your money — this is not worth the headache.
The most useless device that I have ever bought. I don't even get it's rationale, you only locate it when you are within bluetooth range.
