I really like this phone. The security is ideal for my needs, I use it for both work and pleasure. I bought a Otter case from Walmart and its saved my phone multiple times!
I love this phone. My favorite feature is the camera. The capabilities of this camera exceed my prosumer camera. Editing and uploading is a breeze. If you are looking for a great quality phone please choose the galaxy 8. You will not be disspointed! I do recommend tempered glass and some sort of case or bumper to protect this phone.
I already had a Galaxy S8 for myself and I love it. So I wanted to get another one for my kid. I shopped around, and I could not bring myself to pay what Verizon charges. So I bought one from a local electronics chain, and we could not get it to activate, even though it should have worked. So I returned that one. Then I read a post from someone who said they bought theirs directly from Samsung. I was surprised to see their price was just as good as the best offers for new phones on eBay! And when I saw that I could activate the phone on Verizon directly through Samsung, I was confident that it would activate. And it did - I went through the activation steps right here on samsung.com, and it was really easy, and it worked the first time!
Though I haven't been using it long I am happy with the performance. I would prefer it to be somewhat smaller. My last phone was a Samsung Galaxy 5 mini and I tried to go with something similar but this seemed to be as near the size of the mini without giving up too much performance.
Nice phone, when I can get it to wake up. Missed a phone call because it wouldn't wake up when the pholne rang. Swipe, tap, hit the home button, power button, and volume button... no dice. Happens about 50% of the time. Searched on google, other s8s are down oing the same thing.
I am a former Microsoft user and this is my very first time with an Android device. I am not very tech savvy. I used the Windows platform phones because I used my phone for work and it was very user friendly and I never really cared about apps or not. But lately I had been very disappointed by my old Nokia phone and all the things it could not do that I finally broke down for an upgrade to the Galaxy S8 and I must say I am pretty impressed with all it has to offer. My only issue is I have to rely on my kids to help me use it because it does come with a ton of features. So wish me well and hopefully this is the start to a great new relationship with Samsung.
the phone is set in Chinese language and cant change because phone wo t unlock to go to settings AND I DON'T SPEAK MUCH LESS READ CHINESE VERY UPSET WITH WASTING TIME AND MONETARY
BEWARE, SCAM!!! The listing said the phone was new, but that is not the case. When the phone arrived the IMEI number on the box was blacked out with marker, and didn't match the phone. There was no manual, no protective film on the phone screen and it was covered in fingerprints and surface scratches.
This phone is supposed to have "gorilla glass". I dropped my phone from my lap onto laminate flooring after getting up from my sofa. It fell face first and when I picked it up the entire face of the phone was destroyed beyond repair! Deeply disappointed. I purchased this phone because of its "shatter proof" feature.
I purchased this phone in September of 2017. It was amazing and everything I wanted. 3 months later they dropped the Oreo update and I was no longer able to control streaming apps over bluetooth. I know bugs happen, but here I am 6 months after they released an update that broke my phone, basically being told that I can send it back and they'll send me another non-working phone in a week or so. Fix your issues Samsung. I love your products, but every time you release an update you make them worse. It's 2018, a flagship cell phone costing almost a grand should be able to do something that the original iPhone was able to do a decade ago. I used to swear by Samsung, but I can no longer recommend Samsung to anyone based on my S8 not working properly for 2/3 of the time I've owned it. I currently own the following Samsung devices, Galaxy S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, Gear, Gear S Nano, Gear 360, Samsung Refrigerator, and a Curved 4k TV, and one of their original plasma TV's. I say this so you know how much I have enjoyed Samsung in the past. If they release an update that breaks something, their expectation is that you'll just go buy a new one - I've given them 6 months to fix what they broke in the Oreo update and they haven't done it... they haven't had any trouble though pushing their new phone. No thanks. Now as items stop working I will make sure to avoid Samsung.
