This watch is more than just a watch. You can use the Bluetooth to take and make calls. The speaker is pretty loud and clear. You have the ability to check your email and open apps. You can check and send text messages, check your hear bpm, track workouts, and so many other functions. Also, I purchased the 44mm size which is a larger face. It's really not that large. The larger face makes it easier to work the different functions. I purchased the soft pink gold color. The band it comes with is pretty sturdy. I wear on last hole to secure it and it's not too tight or loose. You can also easily replace the watch bands. For reference in the picture my watch has a face cover that I purchased separately for additional protection. I really love this watch.
I absolutely love this watch! Bright and vibrant, connection to my phone is amazing! I highly recommend! I got the 44 for reference, go big or go home!
7th day wearing this watch and have charged it one time from initial full charge (at 42% now). Thought I wouldn't like it because it doesn't have the rotating bezel, but I am getting used to it. The band fit very comfortable unlike my Gear band, I had to order a more comfortable fitting band for the Gear.
the health tracking is pretty good and the activity reminders are helpful though not necessarily the most responsive. mostly though, i love how well it is integrated with my samsung galaxy s10. notifications come through perfectly and alarms and things that would normally just be on my phone come through too, which is super cool and easy to control. i also love the versatility to respond to texts with voice or handwriting or any emoji instead of just a few responses. definitely get a screen protector, though!! i got a scratch on the 3rd day of owning my watch, but luckily the screen protector i got hides it. the battery life is also kinda short but i have found topping it off when i shower and/or just before bed to work perfectly. it lasts about a day and a half with a full charge.
This is an excellent product for me. I can't speak for anyone else, but it's the right size display, looks good, if fact I have kept the orginal band. Except for the "Iwatch" I've tried alot of smartwatches and trackers. Active 2 has the ability to track fitness, provides very good smartwatch features and looks great. Highly recommend.
This new Galaxy Active 2 watch does it all!! I'm not a fitness fanatic, so I will not comment on the accuracy of the calorie count or heart rate monitor. I'm happy to know my daily steps taken, be reminded to move when I've been sitting too long at my computer, know my ticker is still tick'n, and receive kudos when I've reached my daily goal. First of all this is a stunning piece of technology, very sleek, and looks great on any wrist. I replaced the pale pink silicone band with a slim black leather one so it looks very sharp and professional. The Pink Gold color keeps the watch looking slim, not bulky (although the Aqua Black was intriguing), and blends well with most skin tones. I chose the 44mm for better battery life - yes, I get 3 days between charges. I also like the larger screen for easier interaction with the touch screen, which by the way is very clear, bright and easy to see even in sunlight! LOVE LOVE LOVE, that I can receive and respond to texts and calls. I have found that the 30 foot maximum distance to my phone requirement is actually conservative, my phone has been further away from me than that and I still receive texts and calls. I work in a showroom where I cannot have my phone with me; I can now react immediately when I'm contacted. For texting, I can use voice to text and even edit my response after I have spoken it using my voice again or hand writing on the screen. There are endless emojis I can reply with and I can send and receive texted images. I can ANSWER THE WATCH, if my phone rings. There is a mic and a speaker on the Active 2, and the voice clarity is perfect. I can also reject a call right from my watch and send a text back instead, like letting the caller know that I'll call them back in a bit. The Galaxy Active 2 also gives you detailed quality of sleep feedback. It does a great job breaking down time spent in REM vs the other sleep phases. And with the ability to fully charge in about 2 hours, every 3 days, you can absolutely wear the watch to bed every night to benefit from that useful information. The watch is completely customize-able. You can choose what notifications you want to receive on your watch and how (vibration, sound, or both). With the Do Not Disturb feature, you can also schedule hours at night that you won't receive any notifications at all. You can arrange the widgets in any order, add and subtract Apps, and navigate by scrolling between them or use the digital haptic bezel. The digital bezel adds a bit of class to the watch and works flawlessly. It's responsive and brings back that rotating functionality that the first Galaxy Active lacked. I have uninstalled the Apps I did not find useful to conserve battery life and added a couple, including Alexa. YES, ALEXA!! I added the Alexa App, called "Talk to Alexa" In the companion "Galaxy Wearable" App. You can find it in the App section: Discover>Top Watch Apps>Categories>Lifestyle>Top Paid. I can ask Alexa to answer questions, things that I would typically Google on my phone, in addition to finding out the weather, set timers, and control my smart home, RIGHT FROM MY WRIST! I have tested various requests using my Active 2 vs asking Alexa in my home. The responses were identical. The first photo below is of Alexa ready to listen, and you can program her to launch when you double tap the Home button. This is an amazing Smart Watch, get it, you won't be sorry. Now complete with Alexa, this is a perfect alternative to an Apple Smart Watch if you are an Android/Samsung phone user... I have been using it since the day of its release and it is a fun watch to use and a wonderful companion. Click below if you found my review helpful. I purchased this watch at full price and was not compensated for my review…
Ordered new galaxy active 2 Samsung and was supposed to be a black face/band size sm and this watch is SO Big but also the band! My wrist is very small but my husband is large wrist.. so this band is actually large even for him... seriously? Just ordered new watch band that's supposed to be small.. takes a week and a half..yet my new fitness watch came Free delivery in two days... but my cheap $8.99 takes over a week yet. Bottom line... too big for accuracy. Horrible reviews on battery life but supposed to be long battery life.. every day I have to recharge it and THAT with reduced apps on watch, to save what battery I have left. Do I really need to go on? OH BTW.. tomorrow evening (last Tuesday evening bought watch) and I already think this has serious issues so far!
Bought this on the day of release and loved it right out of the box. About a week or so ago, a software update broke some of the fitness tracking capability. I have the watch synced to a Galaxy S10+ and everything I do as far as workouts is recorded on the phone's Samsung Health app so I know that part is working. However, looking at the watch it shows zero minutes for workouts and additionally, shows me active for 24 hours a day. I'm hoping that since a software update apparently broke this, that one in the future will fix it.
I received a brown box with the watch wrapped in plastic and a cable. No invoice, no warranty and no instructions. Be aware that Walmart is sourcing out to 3rd parties and then you have to deal with that party and their rules. Furthermore, I did not purchase refurbished.
got this in 2019 sep. used few months and then due to covid, stayed home the entire 2020 (worked from home and when going out for groceries, i usually left it home). today i found that this 'barely used' watch's screen is coming off!! i never dropped it nor used it aggressively. the bottom screen is detaching from the body and i can see glue holding the screen. i've been using galaxy watch for few years and the reason i switched to this was because my old galaxy watch simply died (lost power suddenly) after 2yrs without any reason. samsung told me to throw it away because it's out of shelf product. now this watch is detaching its own screen about 5 months out of initial 1 year warranty, very disappointed as samsung-fan.
