Love the SanDisks!!!!
It's a flashdrive. That's it, just a flashdrive. You plug it into your computer and store files on it, just as you would do with any other flashdrive from any other manufacturer. They all do the same thing, and this one performed just as well as one that costs less, and one that costs more. Because... it's just a flashdrive.
I've been wanting a USB for a while to backup my pics and files so I finally ordered on walmart.com and very please of the 64GB for the low low price.
I have many. Remember not to leave in a drive as they are easily bent. Still will work.
Does the job. Ordered 2.0, received 3.0 but 3.0 works in 2.0 slot.
Does indeed store the data I put on it. Only issue I have is, the slider got stuck and the USB stick end is permanently sticking out. You get what you pay for, I guess? But it's okay otherwise.
The overall satisfaction would be higher but I ordered DOS 3.0 devices but I wanted 2.0. Didn't realize my error until I loaded music on them.
didn't do the job I wanted to do
I found this device to be very glitchy, it took several times plugging it in to get the driver to install. The file transfer itself was fine, very slow but this is a USB 2.0 device so that is as expected (I was worried my very old and about-to-die Windows 7 computer couldn't handle a USB 3.0 transfer so I erred on the side of caution and bought 2.0's to use). It took literally h-o-u-r-s to transfer files and fill this device up but the transfer was ultimately successful. However, at the end when I tried to eject the device I got a notice that it was "currently in use" and I needed to close the program that was using it. There were no programs open, so I thought maybe it just needed to finish wrapping up whatever it needed to do now that the file transfer was complete. So I waited. And waited. Eventually I gave up (after about an hour) and yanked it from the computer without ejecting it. Then, to see if the files were intact I plugged it in again. I got a message saying it needed to be scanned and fixed and I clicked OK. It then "fixed" it and I checked and the files were there and this time I was able to eject it without any problem. Next I used another of these Glides (purchased at the same time) and the same thing happened, same exact experience-- multiple attempts to download the driver, unable to eject, etc. I blamed my near-dead laptop for the glitches, until I tried a Cruzer Blade USB 2.0 and had NONE of these problems. So, hmmm. I like that the Glide has a retractible end but that is the only thing about it that I like. I've already lost hours of my life to data transfer so I'm going to keep them, but I will not reuse them and I will not purchase them again, not just because of the hassle using this drive but because I worry with all its problems that it won't store my data safely. Very disappointing for a SanDisk device to be this glitchy.
