Chose aerosol after seeing all the reviews of the leaky pump bottle, no issues or problems. I treated 8 pairs of socks, 2 pants and 6 shirts with one can, and feel that was in line with printed expectations. I treated flat outdoors as I felt I was missing hanging folds. Not sure of it was the aerosol or the fabric (cotton knit) but the product sat on the fabric in a fine foamy layer see 1st photo) - easy to see but I was reluctant to reverse item immediately. I gave it 5-10 min to soak in then did reverse, hung to dry. The aerosol made it very easy to see wind direction/drift issues right away. I discovered after the fact that since I have a gray water washing machine system I'll have to launder my items elsewhere; not suitable for irrigation. Be aware. I will update review if I have mosquito issues :)
This is a review of "Sawyer Products Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent Aerosol Spray" I have used both Sawyer Permethrin spray and Picaridin Lotion for twenty years. I have a fatal attraction. Bugs love me. They attack me and leave others alone. Mosquitoes give me large welts. When gardening I am assaulted by another unknown bug. I get very large red weeping welts. Deer Flys kamikaze me till I go inside. Sawyers' permethrin and picaridin products have become my bodyguards. They are used quite differently and both are very effective. Permethrin is sprayed on clothing ( let it dry for 2 hours or more before wearing the clothing) and not directly on the skin. . The permethrin sprayed clothing will remain effective through several washings. It helps prevent ticks grabbing onto shoes or socks or pantlegs when hiking. if they do attach to sprayed clothing, permethrin will kill them. Besides spraying my clothing, this can be used on dog bedding ( DO NOT USE FOR CATS-due to toxicity) I also spray this lightly on screens in my sunroom. It stops the spiders from weaving their webs between the screens and the windows. The picaridin lotion is applied to the skin and is my body armor for mosquitoes and deer flys. I can be outside in peace. THANK YOU.
I threw some turkey away in this hot weather I got maggots in the garbage can rather quickly. After the garbage man left, I still had remnants of maggots, we opened the garbage can lid, let i the garbage can sit out in the sun, which usually kills them, however, there was some activity. We sprayed this in our cans and within one hour it had done its job. Highly recommend the spray after looking up on the Internet what kills maggots. The spray also kills other insects. I did use a mask when spraying thank you.
Daughter went to Amazon and treated her clothing with sawyers clothing treatment and also utilized their bug spray and lotion. She only got one mosquito bite the whole trip up and down the river. Very impressed and she was able to enjoy her time amongst the creepy crawlies without getting bit.
We camp year-round at campsites with lots of ticks, and this spray is a must-have! I spray it generously on everything—camping gear, shoes, socks, pants, and even shirts. One time I saw a tick crawling on my sock, but it fell right off! It really works. After seven years of camping several times a year, we have never been bitten by a tick. Just make sure to spray it generously; a light spray won't work as effectively.
I bought this because other people I know who work in mosquito infested areas of the US swore by it. We were going to the Amazon forest and sprayed 3 sets of clothing as well as a netted bug suit where it was recommended to use insect repellant due to threats of Yellow Fever, malaria and dengue fever. Now that we are back, it appears the areas where we went were not as heavily infested with mosquitos. Everybody came back with one or two bites but we never really saw any areas concentrated with mosquitos. We won't know for sure until about 4 weeks from now since that appears to be the maximum incubation period for certain types of malaria. Hopefully no one will get sick.
I walk almost every day in the woods for a couple of hours. I have been using Sawyer permethrin spray for tick control for several years. So far no ticks, I just spray them on my Rocky Outback Chukka's and snake leggings and let them dry for 8 to 10 hours outside. I also spray them on my lacrosse snake country 17" boots. Great product, No Ticks!
Works to suppress ticks. They aren't seen when this is used. It stays active even after several washes. There was no adverse skin reaction since it is sprayed on clothing not the skin.
The can says,"Odorless after drying." This is NOT true and I can't understand how they can even say that. I treated seven shirts and four pants before a trip to Panama. I hung everything outside for about six hours the first day then four hours the second day. The clothes wreak so badly that I'm having to wash them. They smelled a little better after the first wash but definitely still not odorless. I'm now washing them for the second time. Ugh! I'm travelling with a group and would probably be thrown out of the van for coming aboard with clothes that smell like this.
the spray I ordered was not an issue..I originally was going to order a single can (which I never completed ordering) because I found a 2 can package on their site which I did order..when I received the package it was a single can order???..i `knew`I DID order a 2 can package,so I went to walmart to return and get credit for the single can they sent me figuring the 2 can order was on its way..when the `2` can order came there was only` 1` can in the package but the receipt showed 2 cans which I was billed for..to be continued..
