Overall this has been a great umbrella base for our heavy offset umbrella. We poured 2 40 pound bags of paver sand and water (do yourself a favor and grab a funnel) into the bases to weigh them down. The water helped the sand wash down much easier. They are bulky but do the job. The grooves underneath keep the cross bars in place perfectly and they have not leaked any water out of them.

I just recently purchased a new led patio umbrella and I was just a little skeptical about purchasing this base because of the price and also I wasn't sure that it would work with the umbrella or not. I am completely surprised with how it's connecting to my new umbrella. I chose to use water instead of sand and so far, it's holding up perfectly! No complaints here at all!!!

I found there's a trick to filling these patio umbrella bases quickly. Take a 40-50lb of sand, and use a large funnel to put the sand into the base. The real quick way to fill a single base up is to put about quart of sand into the funnel, then wash the sand into the base with a garden hose...the water makes the sand go thru the funnel super fast. By using this method you can fill up each of the four bases in about 5 minutes or less. Try this method - it works great!

Base worked great filled with fine sand and tapped during filling to eliminate voids. solid, heave, look like they will last forever.

Very easy to fill and assemble! I filled mine with wet sand and they have been great in holding down my cavalier umbrella.

works well with our cantilever setup. we filled ours with water. no leaks holds the umbrella in place when wind gust shows up.

Only wish they had handles, but they moved around easily and have worked well with my umbrella. I like that the fully sit across the bars, but would also like to secure them to each other because they do move a little.
