Excellent product but I made the mistake of purchasing without having my son with me. I had to return the bike because the height was too high, his feet couldn't reach the ground. It's a great bike but just too big for him. I returned it and we purchased another Schwinn that fit his size.
Well engineered, well crafted, handles great. Could use independent shock absorption for the seat, but overall a comfortable ride. Ideal bicycle for an adult who wants a decent workout without worrying about equipment failure.
This is a good quality bike for the money. Schwinn still makes quality bicycles. This 21 speed hybrid is a fast and comfortable bike that lets you sit up straight while you are riding. Brakes and gear shifters worked fine with no adjustments. Liked that it came in black so it didn't look like a kids bike since it was for an adult.
Bought this online for my 5'11” 19 year old. He loves it. It arrived “mostly” assembled, but the front rim was bent. Called Schwinn and they sent a new rim that arrived in 2 days. Paid $35 to have the gears tuned up, and the bike rides great.
the box arrived damaged but I put it together anyway and that's when I noticed the front rim and brake rotor were bent so I returned it to the store, other than that the quality looked good
Other than being heavy, the bike itself was fine, that's why I gave it two stars instead of one. The shifters? Complete garbage. You can hardly get into all the gears, sometimes you shift, it does nothing, then randomly shifts later or just scrapes but never shifts at all. Adjusting them does nothing except make it worse. I bought 3 of these for me and my kids and 2 out of 3 of the shifters broke altogether in the first week. Took them all back. Got them for cheap on clearance and they still weren't worth it. Definetly don't buy them full price, unless you just wanna leave it in one gear I guess.
Bought this bike online with the 4 years protection plan. After assembly while rinding I realized both front and rear derailleur is not working properly. To resolve this I did the followings: 1. Visited the Walmart store and the customer care executive informed me no repair or readjustment is possible here; need to contact the customer care online; they'll help. 2. Called the customer care online and the agent said as I bought the protection plan, I need to talk with them 3. Called the protection plan and filed a claim, but it got declined. The agent suggested to call the manufacturer as the item is within 1 year of purchase and the item is covered under manufacturer's warranty 4. Called Schwinn and agent suggest to DIY and shared some videos.blogs links. They can provide faulty parts replacement but any professional service required will be from my pocket. 5. Called back the Protection plan, the agent said my claim can't get cover as I received a defective item. Learning: Don't buy protection plans, they are of no use; unnecessary waste of time. I spent more than hour to go through all the hassles. Starting the return of the bike.
avoid this. firstly, the frame didnt fit well on the wheel which is just 1 of 3 or 4 things the customer is expected to do (assemble). second, i took this out for the first time on a bike tour and the pedal came off at the 20th mile. Not because it was poorly fit before, but because its screw threads were sheared off and couldnt hold the pedal properly anymore. This put me in danger because I was driving in between hundreds of other bikes
petal broke off after 2 months. contacted manufacturer and got a replacement. broke again within a month. too late to return it. also the breaks wore out already after 3 months.
Placed an Order for a Schwinn 700C Glenwood to pick up on the way back from work. I arrived about 20 Minutes before my pick-up time and decided to go inside and look at collection of bikes available. I see the bike I ordered having two Bikes in stock, and am grateful it is still available. Then about 10 minutes later I get a notification saying my item is out of stock. I go to the service desk where I explained the situation and was show the way to the Curbside/Online Order Zone. I then meet Thomas who's title is "Coach". I explain my situation to him and he tells me it must be out of stock or a glitch that skipped over my order. This is troublesome all together. I explain that the bike is in stock. Thomas then tells me the barcodes have to match, understandably I agree, but this item has no variations or different color patterns, so the bike will only have one Barcode. As i may have been mistaken I go check myself if there are two different Schwinn 700C Glenwood bikes. There is only one type. I then go bring the bike to the Service Center and ask to have Thomas return so we can continue our conversation. He is paged and I wait well OVER a half an hour while I try to find a way to still purchase this bike because I do not carry physical cards on my person. When Thomas eventually returns he simply asked "Did they get you all sorted out". If this was the case why would I still be present in the building. He then explains that I can replace the order but does not know the time-frame on when this order will be picked. When I take his advise to order this one more time the bike is listed as Out-of-Stock on the Mobile App. I'd assume this is the case because a worker could not find or did not bother to look for this item and listed it as Out-of-Stock. This is just a shame because a 5 Minute operation led into being in the store for well over an hour with no real resolve or valued apologies regarding my situation. A disappointing experience all around. Thank You.
